Excellent set, Tom, you have a winner in that lens.
Thanks, Mike! I just wish the lens did not weigh so much (4.3 lbs + camera). Oh, and I shot these free hand with no support.

Enjoy your new lens, good job on the hawk and the "not a hawk".

I got one of the first generation versions the month they were released and have since upgraded to the G2. It is usually paired with my 7DII or 80D for small birds in the yard or water birds over at the park.
Thanks, Rob. It is quite a beast. I don't know about upgrading. I will probably upgrade the camera before I think about a lens like this. I even bought the Tamron case for it. It holds the hood and the base clamp perfectly.

Excellent set Tommy.
Thanks, Jimmy! I just wish I could shoot some tits with it. Lol. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be getting over to England any time soon, though. It is on my bucket list.

Great hawk portraits and I like that plane, too.
Thanks, Karin! With what I know now, that airplane pic could have been a whole lot cleaner. Live and learn.

I am still learning how to get clean crisp photos out of my recently purchased Tamron sp 150-600mm lens for my Sony A77ll. I had just attached the lens when I saw this hawk grab something on the ground and ate it. Then it flew off only to come back within a couple hundred feet and rest upon a fence post. It seemed to just stay there and pose for me. There were a few dead leaves between us, but the lens did not seem to care. Here are a few of the photos I took of this creature.

Great set Tom.

Wished you had posted a un cropped pic , to see how much cropping you did of the head shots . I cant see how you could come up any more detailed , or sharp .Amazing shots .

Very nice set! Luck is important in bird photography.
