I am still learning how to get clean crisp photos out of my recently purchased Tamron sp 150-600mm lens for my Sony A77ll. I had just attached the lens when I saw this hawk grab something on the ground and ate it. Then it flew off only to come back within a couple hundred feet and rest upon a fence post. It seemed to just stay there and pose for me. There were a few dead leaves between us, but the lens did not seem to care. Here are a few of the photos I took of this creature.

About 200 feet away from me. Told ya' I got lucky.

He eventually took off and then landed on this lamp post about 500 feet away.

"Luck" is the meeting place of preparation and opportunity! What a sharp capture with your new lens and that great SLT.
