Real photographer are a truely noble and chivalrous bunch and would never fall into that catagory.

You have obviously stumbled across someone "posing" as a photographer.

I mean I have ran into some decent photographers. But alot are twats. Just wandering what the heck crawled up their butt, and made them have a bad day. Any answers?

These same people buy long lenses to make up for other deficiencies and only feel better by making others feel worse.

Don't let them get you down, we're a friendly, supportive group, well most of us anyway, here at UH.

Looking forward to more images from you soon,

Eric

I applaud the use of twat in your post. That's a fine word that doesn't get nearly enough air play these days.
I've met plenty of very cool and mellow photographers, but there is certainly a faction of people that that just take themselves a little too seriously. I try not to spend too much time thinking about people that I don't enjoy but I'd have to guess that it comes from some deep rooted insecurities or the fact that they were bullied as children. My take is just do what you love and what others think or say really doesn't matter.

re: post girl post - yes please do - a poorly shot nude, over exposed sunset, or washed out portrait is better than leaving the camera in the car. It only happens once - GRAB IT! ! !

See this is where we see things different. I believe a poorly shot nude does belongs in the trash, an over exposed sunset, belongs in the trash, yep you guessed it leaving your camera in the car is much better than a washed out portrait.

Yes we all need to start somewhere, but if you can see that the photo is poorly shot, OOF and extremly over exposed why post it on the forum?

I enjoy photography, I like to share what limited knowledge I have. If offering people advice on how to make their pictures better is being a snob then so be it, I'm a snob.

WOW very interesting. I will put in my 2 cents. And that is probably all it is worth but here it goes. Out in the field when I am setting up and getting everything in line, I am in a total concentration mode. I am constantly thinking of what other way can I do this my lighting etc. When I shoot, I dont take it lightly. So for someone to come right on in and ask me questions I find them rude. I am working at this moment. Now when I am done, I will turn around with a smile and answer any questions. To have a photo critqued you (IN MY OPINION)need and should have an open mind. Why else are you having your photo critiqued? I know that there is going to be some not so great comments. But hey, if I can learn from those comments then great. People have different styles and I like that. So to some all this up, Im not trying to be an butt in the field, I am just dedicated at that point (ask the misses, she just walks away or waits till I direct her, bless her heart, such a wonderful assistant) Cheers!
