Thanks Tom. I used my trusty Nikon D500 and I pulled out my old Nikon 80x400 MM lens for these shots. I have the original version of that lens and it has not been out of its case in several years. Although universally disliked, that lens has always produced decent shots for me. All were shot in manual mode at (as I recall) 1/1250, f/8, ISO 200 for most of the shots.

Great share. Haven't seen a rodeo in person. With all the fight the animals provide, I was unaware the riders wore spurs.

Nice shots. Perfectly timed...for the longest 8 seconds in sports.
With me knowing precious little about rodeo .... does anyone know which is the easier task: (1) Bucking Bronco, or (2) Bull riding? I would guess that getting thrown off, or dismounting after 8 seconds, would be much more dangerous from a Bull who would then pursue the rider.
