My dad worked at Northrop's defense division for 25 or 30 yrs as a project manager. He's worked on a bunch of hush-hush stuff in his years with the company. When my mom and dad vacationed in Russia (she was a travel agent and had been to 6 continents), Northrop sent people to interview neighbors and associates to try and make sure my parents weren't likely to sell our secrets. My mom was LIVID over the personal interrogations, but they ended up going and having a good time with whatever organized tour group they went with. When my dad worked on a meteorological sensor system for the U2 they wouldn't let him within 50 yards of the plane!

Thank you. I enjoy the airshow most years. Next year I'm not sure if I'll go because I want to plan an epic (read, expensive) trip for my 60th b-day. However next year is Oshkosh's 70th anniversary so it's probably going to be a "big, big, shoe" as Ed Sullivan (?) used to say....he was before my time. I was 11 when he died, but I'm not sure I remember seeing his show. It ended in 1971, according to Google. I would have been 7 and probably not too interested (or awake) for late-night TV.

This doesn't look like an F-35 ( this clearly is not a fighter )

First capture is definitely an F35. Looks like an F35A, no wing tip hinges for the "C" model, and there isn't a door for the fan or any lift posts, so not a "B".

cannot be - google the pictures; a fighter isn't going to have 4 engines; it looks nothing like the Martin Lockheed F-35
Photos look nice, like all of them👍

You're looking at the C-17, which is after the first picture. It's Lockheed Martin, not visa versa.
This is a picture of an F-35a I got from Wikipedia.

don't tell me, tell the guy who thinks it's an F-35

That might safer than staying in the C119. Didn't they have quite a few crash during Vietnam?
Problem with the C 119 is that it was grossly underpowered. Our pilot made 3 attempts to get one off the ground one hot, windless day at Ft. Campbell. Once in the air, IMHO it was for its time the best jump platform with the exception of "tailgating" a C 130

Here is one of my gross excess of pics from OSH'22 (and maybe a few others)

I just bought a new PC and a monitor with Missouri's tax-free holiday (I had to pay local tax, though) I almost never succumb to traveling out of state specifically to buy anything, but my 17" laptop was getting WAY to slow and was probably 5 or 6 yrs old. My new 'puter has the same RAM, but the i7 is 12-core vs 2 and the drive is a TB solid-state vs my old whirly-gig mechanical one. Bother computer and monitor (27") were on sale so at least I saved a good bit of dineros. I might try to plug it in later tonight, but I have to transfer all my programs and photos somehow (I didn't want to give them $85 to do it for me). I can't wait to see how my pics look on a new 27" screen! I still might buy a dedicated graphics card, but the sales guy said for now, what I'm doing mostly (photo processing) I don't need one. PS if you check out my FB page (second line under posts) you can see more pics I've taken over the years (Oshkosh and Scott AFB, mostly).
Excellent series. Thanks for sharing.
