Admittedly those are some great photos that took a lot of skill and imagination, but it’s really hard to surpass the pure unadulterated sexiness of a steam roller. Unless it’s the fine poetry like lines of a garden tiller.
Beautifully done. I like your choice of colors, artwork, and music. Your artwork certainly echoes the Firebird Suite. I also appreciate your comments on UHH. You’re one of the helpful ones.
As an 80 year old woman, retired 15 years, I putter more than work and it’s easier to release stress when you’re not tied down to an everyday job.
You think paving equipment isn't exciting?!
Anything that's "a job" tends to be less than enjoyable.

Photography is my day job. It's a great day job but sometimes it ain't very glamorous. Like today, I spent most of the day and the better partof the week photographing paving equipment. This was was steam roller day!. I came back covered in asphalt- and the smell...ugh!
So...I went to the office and sat down at the computer to do some quick edits and I needed to "escape" so I put on my headset and listened to a recording of Stravinsky's Firebird Suite. I used my headset becse the other nice folks I work with prefer rock and rap and consider Strinskyvy an acquired taste that they, as yet, have not acquired.
Well, I got inspired and this is what happened. What do y'all do to ESCAPE the routine?

I think the image is great.
But I'm a 60's rock and Baroque and Rennaisance and Mozart type of guy. Stravinsky and fingernails scraping a chalkboard are about the same to me.

Have a favor to ask of you. Actually, a suggestion: Wagner's Flight of the Valkyries.
Much the same, E.L. Music, and some work/re-work of older photographs. That, or just music. Being a musician, I'll use that to escape life's realities.

So I retired by selling two businesses in 2008 at 57 years old. I spent the last 14 years primarily trading stocks and options in the morning and oil painting in the afternoon. But Covid changed my life dramatically. Now I am trying to do photography as a career, and I cannot sit and paint anymore. Sitting in my studio gives me "schpilkes", and it provides no soulful reward. I long to work again and have a routine, as long as I am healthy! Nice artwork by the way!

I live and work in the woods of NE PA. This is in my painting studio, and I work here every day. I had my studio built in 1989. It's sixty feet from my house. So Beethoven and friends, or whatever my choice, play to bear ears.
I watched your video. The use of a fan brush, especially for the underpainting was novel to me! Great admiration for your landscapes!!
After a 12 hour day taking pictures of patients at the hospital I hop on my motorcycle and take the long, curvy road home!

Ride of the Valkyries is great, as is a lot of Wagner's music!
