Like a lot of “styles”, the backwards cap doesn’t make sense. My Dad used to say they were the guys who didn’t know if they were coming or going.

I always wear a hat - to keep the sun off my head. I was never a "cool" dresser, either. Too much trouble for too little result - and "cool" keeps changing.

I never wear a hat and if I do I would never wear it backward but I don't think those guys that wear them backward are all stupid.

No, some belong to special groups.

Only time I wear a cap backwards is when I’m sitting with the sun on the back of my neck.
I’m pretty sure I don’t look “cool.”

I spent a lot of time outdoors and have no natural head covering left (emulating my maternal grandfather). So a hat was important. The visor helps to keep the sun out of my eyes and the rain off my glasses. As I noted above, I put the visor behind me when shooting because it interferes with the camera. And I put the visor on the side when the sun is on the side.

I have absolutely no concern what it makes me look like. I have never been into appearance, rather I'm strongly into utility.

One real question may be why does a guy have to wear a baseball cap at all when shooting a video indoors? Another might be what kind of useful tech information can you glean from someone who does wear one backwards...indoors?

Maybe he doesn't want to show off a bald head

I was a catcher before the era of catching helmets. You turned your cap around or you couldn’t put on your mask! No fashion statement at all!

There is great tech advice available online, and it covers virtually every area of interest. One thing turns me off, though - well, maybe a few things.

Why does a 30+ man have to wear his hat backwards? I don't take advice from people like that. That reminds me of a Woody Allen movie. They were digging a tunnel and wearing miner's helmets with a light on front. Woody wanted to be "cool," so he had his hat on backwards, with the light shining into the eyes of the guy behind him.

"Hey, guys! What's goin on?" Is this the best way to begin a video? It must be listed in a How-To manual because it's very common.

The pic below is from a site I clicked on today. The one below that is a classic idiot. The hat probably didn't come with a manual, but "real men" don't read the manual.
