I tried that toggle switch on the bottom. It allowed me to turn off/on the beep, and an "accessory" thing (no clue what that is), but no brightness setting.

I have a toggle on my LG monitor but not the same model I'm guessing since purchased it about 6 years ago. When I push the toggle straight up (or press in) a menu comes up. Anyway, get the model & sn on a piece of paper or a photo with your phone & go to the LG website for info. If no success, call LG-USA.
I'm guessing you don't use a monitor calibrator device like the Datacolor Spyder or Xrite i1Display Pro? (there are cheaper models that will get the job done- B&H). Xrite is now called Calibrate. You should go this route if your concerned with getting what you see. There is analmost automatic mode with the calibrate/xrite which will walk you thew it (just set a couple of settings & keep clicking next & save profile) plus vids on you tube.
Good luck, Tom

Have you looked for a Menu, Settings or maybe a Tools button on the remote for the monitor

Yes, the menu options you need are on the MONITOR. If, like my LG, the power on button is a ROCKER switch, it is used to select the Input, Picture Mode, and Settings, as well as turning the monitor on/off. On mine, I push that button, then rock it to the right to reach the menu. See below.

By the way, if you want your prints to MATCH your monitor, you need a kit consisting of either a colorimeter or a spectrophotometer, and software written for that device and your computer operating system. Datacolor and Calibrite make them. I use a Datacolor SpyderX with SpyderXElite software. My external LG monitor matches my MacBook Air very closely, and both match my prints well, after calibrating the monitors to match and using the correct printer/paper/ink profile or lab profile.

Calibration AND profiling are two parts of the entire process of making your monitor honest...

I agree, it's unfortunate that the Colormunki Display is no longer in production and it's difficult to find the updated software.

I figure a calibrator is no different from a computer system. They get pushed aside every five years or so for the next one.

I had a Spyder 2, 3, 5, and now the X. All worth it in paper, ink, and lab savings on reprints.

Hey Bill,
Just looked at your location data.
My son lives in Greensboro. Next time I visit I'll try to do a drive by.

If you have space, you can take a "Selfie" of the back label to get more information.
With the Model # you can search for instructions/Manuals on-line.

For Monitor Model Number: Look under "System Report" (or whatever the title is on Windows) for the section that reports all the Hardware, connected devices, etc. On my Macs the list is found under "About this Mac>Hardware>Graphics/Displays" . This reports the display (Monitor) model number, resolution, and other reports for the current monitor(s) connected.

Actually, I found out I still have the box. It should tell me. (The monitor is located in a place that's sort of hard to get to to see the back of it.)

Also, if you can get a phone down behind the monitor, you could take a picture and see the model number...
