My post dealt with buying not selling. If you don't mind no warranty with the benefit of not having to wait six month then $5500 is a great deal.

While I agree with your recommendations, I do not agree that Nikon's quality track record is 'not the best'. But there is nothing that says that the quality made in Thailand is less than that when in Japan. There has been quite a bit about that here in UHH by people much more knowledgable than me.

My first digital camera was a D100 and had a number of cameras after that. They had quality control issues. I found these issues online and many people suffered from them. D100, died early. D70 power supply/mother board separation (Nikon fixed this out of warranty because it was such a big problem). D200 D810 oil would plaster the sensor in warm weather. I could go on. But Nikon owners know about these. If you did not experience any problems, good for you but won a canon 7d and a 350d never had an issue. I now have a 1dx and an r5 and not one issue (not that Canon has had some issues) but Canon cameras are built in Japan. None of Nikons are built there anymore even their top of the line models and they don't have as good of history as Canon.

I would NEVER buy a used Nikon. Because of my experience and what is plastered all over the web. You have your opinion but I think the internet has documented Nikon issues pretty well and Japanese quality is pretty well documented as is better than the other Asian counties.

Not really, but that is your opinion. But you are correct stupid impatient people who would throw away a warranty just to get something a little quicker are not too bright. But that is their prerogative .. As it is written a a fool and his money are soon parted. But some rich people have money to burn on impatience, but then usually they are not rich :) I am rich (in name only) and I don't buy cameras without warranties especially companies like Nikon who don't have as good a track record as other brands.

All, I’ll repeat a comment I’ve made in this section before: if you’re not interested in buying an item, kindly stay out of the transaction and refrain from comments concerning the pricing - it’s really none of your business

I can warn people and make sure they know that manufacturers warranties don't move to the second buyer and it is my imperative to warn people if the brand does not have as good as a service record as other brands. I would be remiss if I didn't, especially when the item is full price. I would be remiss if I didn't warn people if I thought the post was a scam, though I do not think this post is a scam.

Also are you the moderator or the owner of the site to make such restrictions? If you are they should be posted at the beginning of every threat with a warning you are taking a risk buying stuff over the internet. If not, who do you think you are squelching free speech? If there is a problem let someone with authority tell everyone.

I can warn people and make sure they know that man... (show quote)

It is your imperative?? Do you realize how arrogant and self important that sounds? You have decided on your own that it is your duty to warn people about warranty transfers or pricing as if the UHH members that would buy such a camera don’t know the price or the warranty conditions? Who exactly appointed you to this role? You’ve been here a month, and have decided to appoint yourself. Amazing hubris and rudeness to the OP. This isn’t about free speech, this is about consideration for other members, in this case, the seller.

And despite your “internet-informed” comments, Nikon makes fine cameras, and there are many thousands of Nikon professional and users on this forum that agree. Every camera company, in fact every company, has issues - it’s how they deal with them that shows their value, and in that respect, Nikon is in the top tier of camera manufacturers. BUT, if you want to start a discussion on Nikon reliability, the buy/sell/trade forum is NOT the place to start it - I suggest you read all the appropriate forum rules so you’ll know the proper place for those types of comments. I see that a good percentage of your posts are in the attic. Perhaps you have yet to realize that behavior and comportment there are not appropriate in all the other sections.

Not sure who died and appointed you God, but it’s obvious you have replaced some pompous ass instead.
It is not your duty to do anything of the sort you proclaim in a classified sales section. You are not remiss, just refutable. Anyone considering the purchase of a flagship camera knows enough about Nikon warranties and quality of production.
Your just another self righteous Canon proselyte who thinks he is born to save the world.
Seriously, shut up and stick to what you know, not what you’ve read.

Not God.. Free speech.

Like I said. I have owned a D100, but also a N90s film. So have experience. But, yes I moved to Canon for a number of reasons. Quality issues were one of them and the lack of quality issues with the Canons I owned.

I posted what I know, and backed it up with what I have read. But my main thrust was to educate people that you should not pay retail for a camera that has no warranty.

You are welcome. But I am not a Canon fanboy. I don't defend Canon when it makes mistakes, like my R5 Custom C1 options which I found lacking. Which also called out the Canon shills, just like this one called out the Nikon shills.

Nikon has had issues with shutter, oil and sensor, on models even later than mine. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4128078

Fortunately Nikon doesn't use a shutter anymore to resolve the problem (which other manufacturers did not have)

I don’t know if any has noticed but Z9s are listed on EBay for $6000 to $7000. Someone should carefully look into this.

We recently flipped one for $9,000 to a very happy buyer.
