Ouch! LOL.

I often take but seldom post SOOC images.
I particular like this one;

It’s a nice image. It could be improved with a little PP.

It’s actually easier than that as all of that can be done in Lightroom. With the new masking features it has I rarely need to go to PS. Only to remove stuff too demanding for the clone tool in Lightroom or if I’m adding canvas with some content-aware fill.

Yeah, you are prob. right but for some reason just never tuned into Lightroom... prob. something to do with the folder requirements...

"Its a nice image" ? I read that as rather mediocre praise :-(

Technically you can tidy it up some (see attached) but in the end it just is what it is ... whatever it is. Incense, popcorn, and Chinese food ?

You messed it up, User, the original is better....! 😁

But I notice you're talking about technical improvements.....

How much SKILL time does it take to do BASIC RAW processing in Photoshop ? If one does NOTHING but pick up one of Scott Kelby's Photoshop books and just do the 7 or 8 steps under the BASIC tab you are doing 9/10 of what you need besides fancy presets... White Bal, Exposure, white and black points, highlights, shadows, contrast, brightness, etc.... Come on people, its not rocket science ! Move a few sliders and you are LEARNING as you see the changes. Experiment a little... And then save into Jpeg,Tiff etc... Don't make it harder than it is...

I have been shooting for decades. I also think that your perception of photographers is rather myopic. Yes, there are those that need PS as a crutch. I and all of my other pro friends need PS as a TOOL. Our negatives are not on glass plates anymore. We have advanced to new and better tools. Doing 7-8 steps when you are working just won't cut it at all. It's fine if you are sitting in a blind looking for your next bird. It will not work if you are shooting an event, wedding or any other high pressure environment. I had 10 seconds to get the enclosed image. I think with your "advanced knowledge" that you are making it harder. Good pros are learning all the time, as we all should be doing. I don't think you know what it's lick working in a professional's shoes. ( I also includer another sample image.

Obviously you MISSED the point entirely... Point being directed to those that OBJECT to any Post processing because it is considered TOO intensive and TOO hard to learn. Learn to READ and interpret what one is posting about... No one is even mentioning or giving a hoot about professional work... Actually I went back and reread your post a couple times and have to contain myself into making a more pronounced comment...

I thought this post was sarcastic humor but when I saw your subsequent post I think you really believe this.

10 seconds is quite enough time. An intelligent approach can accomplish all those steps.
