Thanks so much Bill!! Your first day out west was fantastic for the weather but we sure didn't show you much hospitality after that with regards to rain/wind and such!! Cool as in temperature too!
We love Victoria and sadly we haven't been able to visit due to border restrictions/covid stuff.... Did you make it to Butchart Gardens?
Rob

Rob, yes, we spent a day at Butchart Gardens, and it was lovely! There were still tulips in full bloom and they were absolutely beautiful. I'd been a number of years before and remember what a beautiful place it was, but this time was over the top! We also visited the gardens at Hatley Castle in Victoria, and those gardens were also quite nice.

BTW, absolutely no issues getting into Canada on this trip, although we're both fully vaccinated.

Yes indeed Hatley Castle's gardens are a sight to see along with some great sculptures if memory serves. Canada made border crossing a simple thing with ArriveCan back on 4/1 so long as fully vaccinated:)! Glad you enjoyed the trip!

A boat cruise featuring all you can eat Dungeness crab! It was a fantastic day in Northwest Washington with sunshine and nearly 60 degrees! Maybe that doesn't sound like anything special but on May 1st, it's pretty darn good for this part of the country.....
I hope you'll enjoy the scenery in this first of a two part post!
Questions and comments are always welcome!

Rob

Very bright and colorful riverscapes, Rob! #3 is my fave!

Thanks so much Eugene!! I always appreciate hearing from you!
This cruise actually was all saltwater! The La Connor channel, from where we embarked, connects two bays in the Salish Sea(farther south, its called Puget Sound). Both bays(Padilla and Skagit Bay) at either end of the channel are very shallow and provide estuaries for countless animals! That said, the Skagit river's North Fork does empty into the sea just 1000 yards from the end of the channel.
Those clouds were so special that day, glad you like that #3, one of my favorites too!
