It is a very strong pull and especially on this day. Super low tides created a 8-9 knot current according to our captain. This cruise does sail through and under with the right "slack" tides in place but not this day.

Thanks so much Bill!! Your first day out west was fantastic for the weather but we sure didn't show you much hospitality after that with regards to rain/wind and such!! Cool as in temperature too!
We love Victoria and sadly we haven't been able to visit due to border restrictions/covid stuff.... Did you make it to Butchart Gardens?
