Don’t waste your time complaining either. You will number 45in the queue and on hold for another hour and a half. All of which means nothing because you will be disconnected after a minute into your gripe about how S#i%%¥ their service has been.

I called Amazon, and the guy looked into it. The package was delivered to my mailbox. I wish UPS had told me that.

For at least a year, UPS deliveries have been on a decline. A package could arrive at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM or any time in between. We have a different driver every day, so they don't know the neighborhood. I have gotten three deliveries for neighbors in the past two months. An email told me that my laptop power supply was delivered yesterday. It wasn't. Amazon is referring me to the seller in Texas, but I haven't been able to find a way to contact them yet. If a neighbor doesn't bring the package over, I'll have to talk to Amazon on the phone.

I have not had a problem with UPS. I sometimes have a problem with the post office showing deliveries on one day that show up 2-3 days later on my door. There is a FedEx truck that sometimes just sits in my neighborhood for hours. I don't know what they're doing. FedEx deliveries that originate across the country (I live in California) can take 2 weeks or longer to get to me. What's that air hub in Memphis for anyway?

As an aside, I've driven on the freeway twice and seen the UPS caravan of about 30 delivery trucks going in the other direction. They must all leave their facility at the same time.

Yesterday UPS said (according to their tracking site) that my package was delivered “to my front door” at 9:30 AM and Amazon also emailed me that it was delivered. It wasn’t there. Called Amazon who said the UPS often showed things as delivered which weren’t and to wait 24 hours before filing a claim. Last night about 8 it was delivered. Not a real problem, but why the blatant lie that it was delivered to the front door at 9:30?

Yes it is where you live.
I live in Corona, CA on the fringes of the LA Metro Area in an area with a mix of older houses, neighborhoods like mine that were new in the 1960's and constant new developments of middle class to upper middle class homes going in all the time. It is a good area to live and/or work.

In this area all of the delivery services including the Post Office seem to work just fine and have a stable group of employees that know what they are doing. During times of heavy deliveries like the holidays the temps, often using their own cars are also high quality. Last summer one of the guys that was delivering smaller packages with his own car was a Science Teacher at a local high school. One day my package was his last delivery and we talked for a while. He wasn't teaching summer school and he and his wife were expecting their first child so he was delivering packages to pay for setting up a first class nursery etc. and his wife could stay home during the pregnancy to avoid more exposure to Covid-19. Another guy delivering with his own car over the holidays was a retired manager from FedEx who worked Thanksgiving to New Year earning enough that he and his wife could take an extra cruise or tour to some place they wanted to see. He said the extra also allowed more spoiling of the Grandkids when they went shopping for presents.

Huh? You don't check your mailbox? Or is the mailbox at the end of a long driveway?
If at the end of a long driveway put up a sign saying "If it isn't mail that fits in the box deliver to the house." And most delivery services here where I live you can put in any special delivery instructions where I could say that. But I don't have that particular problem since my house is only a hair over 30' from the street with a roofed over porch area in front with a couple of chairs and a small table where they put the packages. And my wife watches the TV in the living room so she keeps the drapes open to watch when they make deliveries.

My FedEx driver backed off my driveway into a ditch. I guess my ditch is responsible for a lot of late deliveries.

Good to see you Ken, was wondering how you weathered the storms .

So far my delivery service has been okay, except for the end of the day crap!!
I now leave a note on the door to put all packages in the fridge ( an Old GE with the coils on top) on your right!!! has been working so far.
If I am home Murphy tells me, well okay and the rest of the neighborhood when the truck pulls in the drive, my nearest neighbor is a quarter mile away .

NO, the absolute worse is incompetent USPS. I received a box from Amazon, and the lid was 80% pulled open, and the opposite corner was bashed in. Now, it gets worse. How do we know USPS should be put out of business? There were two items in the box I never ordered. An electric shaver, a cheap one. And a .... ready for this? ... a script for a vet intended for a patient/dog. The box with the script had the name and phone number so I called the vet and was they they have been looking for it since it is very much needed for a dog. So they came over to the house and picked up the the script. So """"wonderful"""" USPS not only tore open the box, but then stuffed things in there from who-know-where. I've reported this to Amazon, and they have initiated an order so no more of our orders are to be shipped by USPS. Oh, an unusual event? In our neighborhood, we will receive mail that does not belong to us, at least once a week. Suggest, who has our mail? This is ongoing, every week of every month. This was enough for us to switch everything over to Paperless so the USPS can no longer harm us.

Why are they still in business?

Good point. I get about a dozen deliveries a month from UPS without a problem. Same situation as you: driver, time, etc.. I see we both have “nj” in our names…maybe that’s it.

The USPS is still the best mail service in the world, and the lowest priced!! With a 95% successful delivery rate , The last I heard they handled over one billion pieces of mail everyday.
Sure they have problems. But I won't go into that>
Did you ever think maybe they just don't like you?

My street is on the driver’s route for last deliveries of the day, i.e. usually after 6PM. I think it is because we are closest to the UPS depot.

Unfortunately this is one sign of declining service in our country.
Covid, the "Great Resignation" and declining educational/work ethic standards are impacting everywhere.

Depending on what the item being delivered is, I call or online UPS or Fed-Ex & request for it to be held at a warehouse for pick up if I'm not going to be home for delivery. About a 20 minute drive one way but a lot less aggravation.

On two out of three FedEx deliveries, my package was late, and seriously damaged. No more FedEx for me.

Not more than once a day. I don't keep going back to see if anyone - like UPS - has left anything in the box. I have a large mailbox so the mail carrier doesn't have to drive to the front door to leave most packages.

When UPS leaves a package at the PO for them to deliver, the email has always mentioned that in the past. All the UPS email said was that the package was delivered.
