Spring cleaning! Mum raked the sticks up in the back yard yesterday during the lovely weather here. It's wet out today, so not much will be done today. I tried to convince her to move the bird feeders to the back of the yard for the summer, since it is nice enough to walk to the back of the yard now, but she says she can't see the pretty birds from the back of the yard. I'm just trying to get the squirrels to stop coming up to the house. We had one on the back step knocking at the patio door yesterday.

Do squirrels get violent at any time? I have obviously never had anything to do with them, & I haven't heard anything about them being violent, but I do know that some animals (even if they are known for their gentleness) have been a little violent, when approached! 🤔😏xoxoxo

I admit I have "startitis". I like starting projects. I like figuring out new techniques and stitches. When faced with miles and miles of plain stockinette, I usually lose some interest. Maybe I just need something exciting to those miles of plain stockinette. Just think of all the mathing I would have to do to figure that out. That's interesting!!!

Mav, I rarely do straight ss, for too many rows, because it is boring; I might switch back to my first way of knitting (into the back of the stitch, on the knit row); or I just add a very simple pattern, so the knitting doesn't get too boring & run the risk of getting put in the back of a cupboard, or something similar! xoxoxo

So easy, do it in my sleep!! Xxxx

I don't recall doing anything like that, either! I might have to look into that pattern, and try it ..... when one of my current projects gets finished! xoxoxo

I had to look up what a babyccino drink was. I've never heard of them. I bet Eric enjoyed it.

Yes he did, once we managed to stop him trying to put his hand in it!

Sounds like a great drink, for those who cannot have caffeine ..... even adults, (there must be more than me, who cannot have caffeine too often)! 😂🤣xoxoxo

Good morning all from another sunny day in Norfolk, so far. I have succumbed and there's another batch of cheese straws in the oven. Nothing else planned for the day apart from dinner so knitting it will be if I can get rid of this headache that has plagued me for days. Have a good day, stay safe. xx

Our seagull raps with his beak on the door. It sounds like someone knocking.

Are these animals looking for their food, or trying to get to their reflections, because they think someone is infringing on their territory? xoxoxo

My thoughts are with you also Pam, my father went through something similar, when mum became ill! xoxoxo

Interesting to me I had to check what both those things were. Green beans are close to runner beans and we call rapeseed oil canola oil. I use very little oil so do not know if we have that problem. Lilly does use a bit when she is baking.

Thanks for the clarification of rapeseed oil; we also have canola oil, and there are many paddocks full of the canola plant, that is used for the production of the canola oil! xoxoxo

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:42 am EDT and 3'C (37'F). It won't be going up to double-digit temperatures today. It's a dull day with scattered showers forecast.
I didn't get much sleep last night. Don't know why.
Yesterday was busy. More people being hired. I'm supposed to be setting up a new system, but I haven't had time this week. Maybe next week.
Mum called our local member of provincial parliament and his secretary got mum lined up for a covid booster shot today in Cobourg.
Federal budget was announced yesterday. Free internet for seniors, mum doesn't qualify. Free dental for low income people, DD doesn't qualify, but barely. A new savings program that will help people save up to $40K for a downpayment for a house. Unfortunately, the average house is now $1 million in Toronto and $600K elsewhere. The current rules are 20% downpayment so that $40K won't even make up a downpayment for a house in Port Hope. (One of the cheaper places in Ontario)
Still knitting my pink fuzzy tank. I think I'm going to do the back first. Why did I knit this in pieces?
Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is... (show quote)

You just weren't thinking of the hassle of sewing it all together at the end! It is definitely time to rethink how you knit your tanks! xoxoxo

We have a heater/chiller. The ladies who went to BC with me might remember one near the fridge of the place we rented on the Cowichan river. But I fill the jugs from the tap, instead of buying the jugs from the store. I just use a Brita filter in between to remove the chlorine taste. Port Hope uses more chlorine in the drinking water than any place along Lake Ontario.

We also have chlorine flavoured water, especially during the Summer months, so I fill a jug whenever necessary, and that sits on the cupboard, for those who don't like cold water, & is filled as necessary; & the chlorine has gone by the time somebody wants a drink, and tastes just like regular water!

We're having the same problem as Jinx, shortages of pasta. I couldn't find egg noodles at 3 different stores.

I'm not sure if we are being affected by product shortages yet, as I don't know how much impact the war is having on us, food & fuel wise anyway! xoxoxo

The people in Asda not wearing masks are not braver, just thoughtless and uncaring of other people.
I hope you have some other bag that you can use for the bin bag until you get the proper bags.

Susan, I totally agree with Mav, on the thoughtlessness of those in Asda not wearing masks; there are still those who are very vulnerable in the community, who still need others to continue wearing masks, even though it is no longer mandatory, these people should try to think of others, considering that COVID hasn't finished with us, yet! xoxoxo

It is a great machine but leaking slightly now and is a bit spluttery in use. However, the bliss of instant coffee or ice cold water when it's warm or you're thirsty - wonderful!!!! Xxxx

Ice cold water is a definite no no for me .... as it is an instant severe asthma instigator for me, so I only have room temperature water, and nothing is ice cold for me! xoxoxo

Sunny but chilly here in London too, 11'C.

Thr knitting is moving on slowly, the rows are longer now but I'll get there eventually!!

My new water heater/filter/cooler is fully installed now and I'm really pleased with it. Looks kinda smart doesn't it?!

Have a good weekend everybody and if you are having a bet on the Grand National, good luck!! Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hahaha ........ if you hadn't said what it was, I would have thought it was a new kind of toilet seat, but then my brain decided to behave, and let me see it properly! So enjoy your new water heater/filter/cooler! xoxoxo
