Afternoon girls, it’s been a beautiful autumn 🍂 day at 9C. I’ve been into Karen’s to get their new door key 🔑 to let Cassie in on Wednesday. Karen and Andrew are going to Surrey on Tuesday to Friday. Their son lives there. The gold medalist I often tell you about. He can’t come up at Christmas 🎅 so they are taking the gks Christmas presents 🎁. Of course we had to have a cup of chocolate while we chatted. Andrew was hinting that all we do is drink 🍺 chocolate 🍫. We just took no notice of him as we normally do….she’s got little else to do. New left arm is just about gone of use. And her hands are unable to straighten.

I got a text from Stephen to say he was going to the metro centre to shop with sue. They got stuck in a traffic accident line so have ended up only getting 3 hrs shopping 🛍 time. He went for his annual night out for Christmas and got a train to Newcastle. On the way back the train 🚂 was cancelled 😡, so they put him in a taxi and he got door to door 🚪 and got his ticket refunded. That was a good offer, because sue was going to have to pick him up from the station and bring him home. So all is good 😌. I’m hoping I get to see them this week. It’s nearly been a fortnight and that’s unusual for us, it they’ve like millions of others have shopping to do. I’ll see them next week. As long as everyone’s ok, that’s all that matters.

I’ve got my Christmas 🎄 lunch with the chat club on Tuesday. I’m looking forward to that. I hope Josephine is enjoying the lights at Windsor. I wish I was with them. Perhaps next door can take me on Tuesday when they go haha..and I’ll come home with them on Friday.I think it’s a good idea 👍. Seriously I wish all this madness would go away then I can get to see you all again.

Stay safe girls, do what you think is right for yourself, and I love yawl. Xx
94 br Afternoon girls, it’s been a beautiful autum... (show quote)

I woke up hearing a snow plow go through before I could open my eyes... yes the dreaded snow is back!
And so is my herd.. snoozing at the end of the driveway. Counted seventeen, some are hiding behind the bushes. xoxox

The most Harold does with cards is buy them and then signs his name. No matter who the card is for he signs his first and last name. Seriously signing your last name on a card to your wife or children? He got teased about it a lot so now he does it all the time. Then again he made me a Valentine's day card free hand. I still have that 50 year old card. I told him how special it is because it is not store bought. His reply was it would not be that special if I did it all the time. He was right about that.

I agree. Cheer up things could be worse. So I cheered up and things got worse. You and I often share this famous thought....... "This too shall pass."

You made me chuckle again!! xxxx

Good morning all from a dull and cloudy Norfolk but reasonably pleasant outside 11C. Need to put all my stuff away today but will see if the local care home would like some of the shawls, scarves and hats for their residents. I really need to cut down on my numbers or stop knitting and the latter will not happen. Nothing else planned for the day so will, of course, carry on knitting. Have a good day, stay safe. xx

Good morning from a grey Surrey. Had a wonderful time yesterday. It was quite mild and no rain for our visit to the Windsor Illuminations. Lovely to be out with the girls.

This morning I am off to brunch with my friends and then I might start wrapping some presents, unless I get distracted by patchwork.

Happy Monday everyone and stay safe xx

Good morning from Port Hope Ontario Canada. It is 6:21 am EST and 4'C (39'F). We broke heat records on Friday and Saturday. Toronto hit 18'C (64'F). We hit 13'C (55'F). I saw people walking around in shorts. Then Saturday night, a wind storm came through with gusts of 120kph. Over 480K homes south and west of here were without power. 80K people still are without power. We saw lots of electrical trucks on the highway heading that way.
I got my flu shot on Friday and Saturday I got an infected tooth. I look like a chipmunk today and am trying to book an appointment with the dentist. Unfortunately I am in training this week and the training runs to 6:30pm every day this week.
Our new covid number is 1476 with 8 deaths. The number of people in ICU is stable. Half the new cases are fully vaccinated people. The positivity rate is 5.4% The chief medical officer of this province is urging businesses who can have their employees work from home to do so, but that does not include my employer. My CAO is still motoring ahead with having everyone come into the building. They are now saying 1 day per week. (Why bother!) There are 5 new cases in this area and 8 in my brother's area. Our positivity rate is 2.9% One of these cases ended up in the ICU. The health experts are saying that by next week, omicron will make up 20% of the cases.
This province vaccinated 62K people. This area vaccinated 197 people. Today the 3rd dose booster is available to anyone over 50, so long as it has been 6 months since your last dose. I'm not eligible until after Christmas. Vaccinations are available in Port Hope at the pharmacies, because our walk-in clinic does not have a vaccine fridge!
We went to visit my sister yesterday, but we got our communications crossed because my sister went horse riding and wasn't there. We were going to do a tour of their reno house, but it was without power after the wind storm. So we went to the Water Buffalo place near my sister's house and came home. I picked up ground water buffalo to make tourtiere, a traditional Quebec christmas meat pie. Our pie will be ground pork and ground water buffalo. https://growagoodlife.com/tourtiere Mum wants a turkey, but a) we don't have room in the freezer for a 15-20 lb bird and b) I don't want to eat that much leftover turkey. I may get her some turkey parts.
My brioche sweater is slow going now that I have to keep cutting the yarn after each section. My LYS is having a brioche sweater cast on on Christmas eve.
