A quite large and colorful show. You did an excellent job photographing it.
Such a beautiful travel series. #6 sure caught my attention.
Great and colorful series, Joe.
Thanks for sharing. Beautiful series
Are all Tibetans this attractive? Very nice photography on your part, I've enjoyed all your posts of this tour that you and your wife took.

Thank you Barbara - it really was quite a massive and very enjoyable show - well organized with great lighting elements in a huge theater and very well attended. And this all "out in the sticks" in the wild country side with a sparse population. But of course we were there in October, the main month for traveling in China, at least for the local Chinese population.

That is a good question! It is interesting that, when I look at the faces of these dancers and singers, I seem to find that the many if not most of the men have quite distinct Tibetan faces, while I don't seem to find one face with Tibetan features among the women. Maybe I am wrong, I am definitely not an expert and I would certainly think that there is a blend of people here. Then I also think that to participate in this kind of a "high-visibility" show, the selection, besides the aptitude in acting and singing, probably would favor a certain attractive face type. - Thank you also for your nice comment, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the travelogue this far - much more to come in this long tour through four very different countries and environments. I am glad to see that you are with me on this tour!
