So did you do this from the original, unprocessed image?

Yes, but took it into PSE14 as raw to advance the several points mentioned above.

Here's a quick attempt. Mostly a bit more contrast, less haze, and some saturation.

You did a great job. Stop fretting 🏆🎖️🏆

First, thank you for the compliment. I have applied clarity already. So you think it needs more? I don't have the Dehaze tool. My LR is far too old for that. I use clarity and contrast to do whatever I can to haze.

Yes, I think you can safely increase the Clarity setting and if you apply it to only the dark foreground area it will reduce the mist, giving more separation. I like the background as is but would possibly desaturate a little.

I'll try that. Thanks.

I can't help you but it is a nice image. It does pop a little more. I'm sure at your level you know a vibrance & saturation global adjustment will change all the colors. Maybe trying localizes brush adjustments with saturation or vibrance. If I used PS, I would learn using luminosty mask. I don't know this would help but worth a try. I always create a virtual copy to work on when playing with different edits so I don't have to start over from the beginning if I don't like it.

... try tweeking white balance to knock down that overall blue cast- as RJ said, there's room for more color- that'd lessen the purple rock, lighten shadows and give stronger reds... won't hurt the shrubbery either. Then kick up contrast... IMHO...

I like this image. I liked it when I clicked, and when I first worked on it. Last Sunday my church used it as one of their background images. I didn't like it. The colours were all the same density and the whole image lost a lot of its punch. So I've reworked it. I started in LR, went to Topaz Sharpen, then to PS. (My programs are NOT the monthly payment ones.) I thought lightening up the trees along the bottom would do it, but no. I've increased the contrast and did some dodging in PS. I want to know if I've made it better, or just different and what else I might do to make it better.

Right off the bat, do not take responsibility for something you cannot control. You have no control over the method of presentation by someone else. The screen could have been a bed sheet hanging from the ceiling.

All of the pictures you have presented in this thread represents what you were looking at. The PP is what it says, post (AKA "after") the original. Work it to that which pleases you. Then stop. Let the rest of the world enjoy your work. You have better things to do than endlessly tweak.

Where would we be if SC continued to tweak all those toys?

Thank you. I watched a video on luminosity masks some time ago. But, of course, now I can't remember how to do it. I'm trying to find it.

Thanks. That gives me encouragement to do what I did in the first place - STOP!
