Probably the best music pgm I ever saw was RO’s Black and White Night broadcast first time in 1985. Any number of supporting stars, but unquestioned he was The Star. The pgm opened and closed with not a single word of dialog. If you can find the CD, buy it!

Better yet, get the DVD. It's also available for streaming on Prime Video, and maybe other places.
Yes as all comments above indicated one of (if not the best) we ever had. Loved by all, when you watch The Black & White show look at the expressions of pleasure on faces of his fellow stage mates. Have 119 of Roys songs on a thumb drive, 2 of my favorite are Penny Arcade aand his extended version of Danny Boy'
B4 The Beatles he was #1 in the UK

MrBob, I too am a big fan of Roy Orbison. I named my '57 Chevy after his song "Blue Angel"
Don't you wish you still had the 57 Ed ? " My wife's mother used to say " If wishes were horses, beggars would ride ". Have a good day Ed !

As this is one of my favorite DVDs, I would like to offer a little history about 'Black and White Night". I have both the original release and the 30th anniversary editions.
It was a cast of stars that came together and had a great time doing it.
Included are Glen D. Hardin, who played with Buddy Holly and Elvis. James Burton, Ronnie Tutt and Jerry Scheff from Elvis's band.
Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther, Steven Soles, k.d. lang, Jennifer Warnes and Bonnie Raitt.
A Black & White Night LiveRoy Orbison and Friends: A Black and White NightIf you get the 30th anniversary edition there is a certificate enclosed that allows you to download 5 additional songs.
If you have a home theater system with good sound, I highly suggest this as a bucket list CD to have and show to your friends.
A true music legend.

One of my dad’s uncles, Lonnie Parker, taught Roy Orbison guitar lessons when both of them lived in Wink, Texas.

My favorite all time vocalist. If he'd have been blessed with looks like Elvis, we'd be calling him the king. I watch "The Voice" and American Idol and you don't see many contestants cover Orbison songs because the range is too much for most singers.

I was always amazed by the way he didn't open his mouth much, yet hit all those notes and words with clarity. We'll never have another Roy Orbison.
