They are a wild dog and have not been domesticated. I love dogs but definitely would not trust them.

Back from Zimbabwe. These are the only wild dogs we saw. Not the greatest photos for several reasons. First too much brush and sticks. Second, I was having issues getting a sharp photo. This is with the Canon R5 and 100-500mm lens. (Accidentally set on crop mode...)

I am so open to suggestion on how to get sharper less grainy photos. I know the ISO was a little high for some, I was anticipating action... Plus it seems with the R5 I need a higher shutter speed than with the 5D4. Perhaps I over did it on the ISO?
These have all been worked on in LR and Topaz DeNoise.

Great series, however the first 3 look oversaturated somewhat.

Well done, Beth. The use of the sun light at first is excellent.

I think these are nicely done. You can't control the brush and sticks since they're part of the environment. If you'd waited for more ideal backgrounds, you might have missed your shots. Here, you've caught that sense of place and have documented their activities rather well.

Well thank you. I feel I really struggled with my photography on this trip…

Good photos of rather lethal, "handsome in their own way" critters. I suppose if one was raised from puppyhood by humans, it would be a good dog.

I tell you what though, this pack took off and we followed on foot. Lost them for maybe 10-15 minutes and in that time they took down an impala and in photo 7 is all that was left!!! They devoured that thing in no time!
