I hope it wasnt shipped by Fedex. I have had 3 lenses lost by Fedex in the last month!!!!

Unlikely FedEx lost it. More likely your supplier changed your address. That happens to me frequently. The idiots doing it likely have the same database that doesn’t like my address and change it to one 10 miles away on top of a mountain. I no longer work to find if they did that and just cancel and take them off my supplier list.

This link has a story about the backlog: "California ports backlogged due to increased demand for goods": (Found at: https://factcheck.afp.com/http%253A%252F%252Fdoc.afp.com%252F9PA7VN-1)

Bought and on back order. Tell me its not sitting in some storage container on a ship anchored off the coast of California. If so, I may not see it for many months.

Does anyone else have backordered items that drag on forever?

You should think there is a problem with the address your using. I live in one town but my mailing address is a different town and if you insist in using your geographic town you'll never get your mail

You're lucky you have the refund. I always have to pay them and my check got to them fast even I sent them by what we call "Snail Mail".

You pay because you don't have enough taken out or shy on your quarterly payments. No luck involved.

It's right next to my Nikon Fc w/ 28mm ordered in July. I think the ship's anchor is caught on an oil pipeline.

While Amazon still shows not yet shipped with no date, they show 2 available through one of their vendors. My guess is we will see them showing up in decent numbers over the next week.

Is it not amazing how our expectations for receiving ordered items have changed......

It is not the shipping that is the problem. The problem is with the manufacturers. I ordered a lens from Focus camera in New York, and had it in my hands in about a day and a half. The pertinent thing is, that I began trying to locate a vendor that could sell me that lens back in February. All the biggies, including Amazon had the camera and the lens I wanted on backorder.

Before I found the lens on the Focus website, I had tried to order a 90D directly from Canon. The experience was the most disgusting and frustrating example of customer service that I have seen in my life. I will dig out the scathing review I gave them and post it for you to see.

Hang in there, if you live long enough, it will eventually be delivered.

You act like the manufacturers want this to happen. They are victims of the supply chain like everyone else. I have 2 products that I joined the Kickstart campaign and both of these are legitimate companies that have been selling products for 3-4 years. One product is almost a year behind because of issues that certain chips have not been available. The chips just became available with some shipping mid month and the rest by the end of the month so that assembly and testing can proceed and shipping by Christmas. The same for the other product. One issue with cameras, cars etc is that they aren't using the same die size as CPU's and GPU's used in computers. Both industries use older less expensive chips because they don't need all the power. The chip manufacturers just told the auto industry to design their components for newer platforms as they are using 90-120nm chips and I expect that cameras are built on chips larger than 20nm. They don't need the ability to put billions of transmitters and other components on a single chip which would increase heat and costs.
The shortages are hitting every industry because we rely so much on automation.

All that being said, shipping around the world is the slowest it's ever been in modern times. Not only are the ports at full capacity but the warehouses at the port are 98% full as of last week. There is also a very severe trucking issue as millions of drivers have left the business. There are a lot of jobs now paying the same or better and that is preferable to spending 10-14 hours a day driving.

Because in the old days for most items you can simply go to a store and buy it the same day. Today, many of us don't have the option to go to a store and buy the camera that we want. To make me excited about buying online they must deliver it the same day. That's the reason why they are improving delivery time for online purchasing.
However, in the case of the OP, they simply don't have the camera yet.

Good point!

Government produced this snafu by paying workers not to work. Across the country, businesses shut down by government order. These and related government actions have distorted the American economy, with the supply chain slow-down as a salient example.

Great reply. At that time we would have lost probably another 250k because there were no treatments or vaccines. Of course there was bleach which some promoted. Meat packers were having serious issues with their staff getting serious Covid-19. The same with others at work. Most trades were allowed to work in many parts of the country. Many medical personnel died. So yes it was necessary. Just like it is necessary to get vaccinated. I know one person who can't be because of medical reasons. Yes the vaccine works and it doesn't have microdots in them

If you read the transcript you wouldn't say anything about bleach as treatment. As far as vaccine people with natural immunity for having covid don't need vaccine. Read Clevland clinic study with 50,000 people
