Great set of these two fine animals! That tail is really something else on the fox!!
Hopefully there were a few fish to be had this day, and you hit the trifecta!

Thank you for some fine comments. I did catch fish but nothing big enough to take home.
One small cutthroat, only about 8 inches long, was very likely the prettiest trout I have ever caught. The red of the cutthroat was incredibly bright red and it extended all the way down toward the belly. That red coupled with the markings on its sides made for one beautiful fish. Unfortunately I already had a ton of fishing equipment to carry from truck to the lake and did not want to include my camera. Had I gone back to the truck the fish would have died. Yes I know, What was I thinking. Maybe next time.

After fishing in Meadow Lake in Idaho I grabbed my camera to take photos of the lake and surrounding areas. I was surprised to find this red fox walking just a few yards away from me. Fortunately he stopped a couple of times to allow me these two photos. The chipmunk tried hiding for a few minutes and then came out on a stump and posed for me for a few minutes. I hope you enjoy them. Notice the tail on the fox. I have never seen one bushier.

Great way to end a fishing trip. Nice shots.
You didn’t say if you saw any fish??? But. I can understand , seeing the Fox would make the fishing trip very good. Fish or no fish. It is neat to see then in the dead of winter curled up with their nose in that Bushy tail for warmth. Awesome shots.
Love the photos—those guys must have known you appreciate them!
