Lots of excitement about an issue well beyond the control of anyone period. So, grab your camera gear, go out for a walk and expend your energy on creating works of art.
PS - I received my Z lens 105 f/2.8 yesterday!

Better Question: "Who cares?"

This camera is not directed to or intended for anyone who is a member of this forum."
How many middle aged or older men & women who are interested in photography did you discuss this with?

At this point, my focus is on what younger folks think. If some older people like it also, that is a bonus, but not my focus, and I'm pretty sure not Nikon's either.

Yes, Nikon is having supply chain problems because they outsource a lot of their parts and with the lockdowns in Japan they are having problems keeping up with orders, not just for that camera, but other cameras and lenses as well. They have already sent out notifications regarding several lenses that will not be available until further notice.

I call BS. The entire camera industry is struggling with a parts shortage right now. Everyone is delaying releases with the same excuse about a lot of pre-orders. I think they should just acknowledge that there’s a shortage of parts!
That's not bs. You are right that they are having a supply chain problem, but it is probably true that they have more orders than the number of cameras that they can supply. They have already acknowledged the supply chain problem regarding several other lenses and cameras.
That email was just a courtesy to someone who was ordering one to tell them they aren't available right now, and that there is a waiting list. How is that bs?

Probably anyone who is interested in buying one.
It also gives people who are not interested a chance to let us know that they are not interested. Now that is something I care about.

I am not interested but I do want to know if there are many people want it. I read a lot of posts here and other forums people asking for cameras like that. So yes I do care.

From what I read there is a parts shortage that has affected all camera companies, as well as car companies and others. I also read that the Z FC has been very enthusiastically received, especially in Japan and probably to a lesser degree in other countries. I ordered the Z 105mm the first day it was announced and the initial ship date I was given was mid August, although I ended up receiving it on July 8. That lens is now out of stock everywhere.
Nikon should consider hiring a U.S. or English speaking PR firm that can communicate these issues better to its customers. The YouTube crowd goes nuts when these announcements are made by Nikon and it ultimately hurts their brand when these delays are often caused by factors out of their control.
Is anyone buying the Zfc to take pictures or are you buying to sit on a shelf. No, I will stick with my D800E.

I am sure whomever buys the Zfc would use it a lot. They would bring it with them more often than other cameras.

Agreed! I am not spending $1200 for the camera to sit on a shelf!

Technically yes, but the demand could be for 10 cameras and they can only make 1 every 3 months.
How many orders vs production capability?
It's the Salmon Pink models that are sold out, right?
