And I never knock Canon, they make some of the worlds finest camera's. I know you "TROLL" post all the time but I had to respond this time.

Agree Bill. The air coming from the open Canon hole never ceases to amaze me. The trollism is annoying and a distraction to constructive photography discussion. I went to my eye surgeon's office and my ophthalmologist's office and sat in each of their chairs. I looked up at their testing equipment and proudly saw a little black metal label on the equipment that said "Nikon". At that moment I knew I was being tested on the best equipment money could buy for my vision.

Anyone can advertise, even the now global #3 camera manufacturer.
Nikon is much more than a “Camera Manufacturer”. Nikon is a very successful company when all aspects are considered.

He has no new material. He keeps these nuggets in a text file and just reuses them ad nauseam.

...my thoughts exactly. When I saw "Nikon" in the header I had no doubt Paul would be right there...

If you want to make enemies, say something true about Nikon....
You crack me up, mainly due to the way that you rack people’s brains over the Nikon vs. Canon remarks. But, I think that if we really are serious about Cameras, then I think that we owe Sony a big Thank You for virtually starting the Mirrorless revolution. Now, it looks like Nikon will be using Sony’s stacked Sensors in the next Z-Body. I went out with a friend the other day and he had an R5 with a RF 100-400 with a 1.7 teleconverter. I was very impressed with it. Canon is a great company, but so is Nikon. Nikon just arrived a little late to the party. But, they will catch-up to the others. The thing that concerns me, and this correlates to Golf Club manufacturers as well, is the fact that these companies are going to price themselves right out of business. Parents are not going to be able to run out and fork over 6-7 grand just so 17 year old Johnny or Susie to start a interest in Photography, only to see that Camera setup sitting on the bedroom dresser 2 years later because they found out that they don’t have the interest in “The Game” anymore.

I agree with your comment, Linda.

Potty mouth—how cute. I keep forgetting how easily offended the younger set have become. Sorry, I hope the words I used didn’t cause you too much distress.
And thank you for making my point about how peripheral items can be blown out of proportion in relation to what is really important.
Hi Mac: Just a note to let you know that I am hardly a member of the younger set, but I don't very much appreciate your choice of vocabulary either. Not trying to pick a fight; just letting you know your comments will be more appreciated without the offending characterizations. Best.

I am a Nikon fan boy but since Nikon will soon stop making Cameras in Japan so I won't be buying any new Nikon. May be I have to switch to Canon for new camera if my current Nikon goes dead.
Nikon products from Taiwan etc. seem to be as good as older from Japan according to reviewers.
Nikon will survive, just not as a powerhouse but a niche product like Leica and Pentax. Good quality but low volume.

Why are you always so critical?

They are also a major player in the foundry business. They are one of only two companies whose parts are in all foundry equipment - steppers, litho units - no matter what the brand. Yes that includes Sony & Canon (despite what their marketing dept. might say).
