Thanks for sharing! She is like the Thomas Kinkade of photography!

In addition to wonderful lighting, her subjects are beautiful and interesting. If I had access to some of the people she has photographed I could make some really nice images also -- maybe not to her level but still some good shots. I don't know if she seeks out these wonderful subjects or if they go to her because of her reputation, but either way, she has some great individuals to work with.

I was reading a little about her. She has people in the town she lives in that she likes as models. If you look at the photos you will see repeated images of the same models. I'm not sure if she pays them or maybe gives them photos of them in payment.

I discovered Elena a few years ago and was amazed at her ability and creativeness. The collection of photos was much smaller then. As a retired pediatrician I particularly appreciated the nursing mother photos. Thanks so much for the link.

You are welcome. Glad to share the link with my UHH friends here. I think we all can be inspired by her beautiful work. That nursing mother photo is beautiful!

Yes....stunning work and definitely inspiring! You have to have a vision in order to achieve the end results.

I think she also has a formula that she uses over and over again. One of the first parts of her formula is starting off with the "golden hour" light. She teaches workshops, and I'm sure you can find out much more with her instruction.

I agree completely. Everyone can get a great picture or two. To have such a body of work requires both vision and talent. Wonderful.

Robert, I'm thinking she is an "artist" and understands basic art such as
1. Composition
2. Color
3. Lighting / contrast
Then on top of all that (and more) is the technical skills to use the PP tools to enhance the images to be the best they can be.

Unfair? lol I'm sure it's not by accident that she has over 400 amazing "once in a lifetime" shots. She obviously has years of learning behind her photographs. Those "years" of work stacks the deck in her favor!!! I don't think those "once in a lifetime" shots are just "LUCKY"!!
I'm glad the photos could make you smile!

Elena Shumilova, a woman living in rural Russia, has become one of the most well known European artists. All of a sudden she is all over Europe and most probably in other parts of the world, teaching her style in her workshops.
I hope those here have noticed that she usually shoots at the largest lens opening. Useless to say that the quality of her images are outstanding and she uses her children or have used them for many of her images.
Indeed she is an excellent photographer.

It's great that you appreciate her work the way you do. I think we can all learn from her. Improve our photos.

Stunning work. The lighting is superb, combined with excellent subject matter and composition. She demonstrates what happens when a top artist, camera, photo editor combine to create one masterpiece after another. I've never seen this many top of the line photo's in one place. Most good photographers would be happy to get a small handful, (even one), of the results that she has shown here. You can teach me to use a camera, and an editor, but talent like this cannot be taught. Hundreds and hundreds of one spectacular photo after another. Hats off to Elena.
