I DID NOT PLACE A SECOND ORDER!!!!!! - that is a fact. I placed one order on one day at one time. I don't give a crap what your system shows. That hard drive was hooked up and running the day I received it. I have no other hard drive from you.

Yelling here doesn't help. Henry gave you an email address to reach him directly.

Looking foolish here, well, just makes you look foolish. It doesn't help solve your problem.

Chill!

I understand your frustration. Clearly there is a disconnect somewhere, but your anger at Henry is uncalled for. Whether it is correct or not, he can only report what he sees in his system. He offered you the option of contacting him at his email address to discuss the matter and the ability to return the second unwanted drive. If you only received a single drive, perhaps you should follow up with him on that directly via an email. If they sent you a second drive as they suggested they should be able to come up with a tracking number from the shipper indicating where and when the unordered drive was delivered. It is possible you are both correct and someone stole your identity and had the second drive shipped somewhere else.

I went back and checked the entire thread, you still haven't answered if you received a second hard drive and USB cable. So did you receive two identical orders, or only one order but were charged for two? And this is why everyone is confused, the story is all over the place.

He answered that in the last post on the previous page. He ordered and received one drive. He got a second bill at a higher amount. At that point, once the billing cycle ended he should have contacted his credit card company. They would have put a hold on the second charge until everything was resolved.

Stuff happens. I got a new 800mm lens from B&H where the serial number on the invoice wasn't even from a Nikon product. I called, emailed a photo, received new invoice. I did forget to jump up and down and get upset.

So did I. It's not really clear what happened OP's end as he hasn't explained it well.

When I went onto their website to look at my orders they had created a whole new order and invoice and my order and invoice wasn't there.

Does this mean your placed order disappeared from their system and the new order you did not make replaced it?

Henry Posner from B&H wrote that he sees both orders in the system.

Around here you gotta read all the words or get left behind.

This should be easy to check from the package tracking information. I recently had an item that I was billed for and I returned. The tracking info got me the refund.

No, B&H explained that they see 2 orders.
What I asked has not been clarified. His wording suggests his account shows the purchase that was not made and the purchase that was made has disappeared. That's how his wording seems to come across. I'm looking for clarification as to what orders show in his account.

Bizarre! All this back and forth, arguments and claims and no paperwork?! It sounds crazy to me. I ship and receive hundreds of parcels each year and I have tracking numbers and records of each transaction. Will B&H ship some $300. worth of goods in 2 separate shipments without tracking numbers and "signature required" on delivery? Was it just mailed or couriered and left on a doorstep or mailbox? Are there no hard copies of anything? When I place an order online, I always print out a copy of the purchase order and keep it on hand until the transaction is completed. When I ship merchandise to clients, I do the same and make certain there are tracking numbers and insurance just in case of losses or mixups.

This all may sound too "old school" and not high-tech enough but a good old clipboard, a stapler, and a filing cabinet can save an awful lot of headaches.

Unsophisticated stuff like cancelled cheques, credit card chits, signed receipts have un-screwed lots of screwups for me, over the years. Every business, regardless of its size and a good reputation, can make mistakes. This includes retailers, banks, credit card companies, postal and currier services and utilities. Computers and "systems" are not infallible. One wrong keystroke can cause all sorts of hate and discontent on either side of a transaction- the customer or the supplier!

I try to buy locally, however, there are items that can not acquire here in Canada. I have to import lots of stuff from the U.S. If I didn't do my "homework" and paperwork, I would spend all my time fighting with suppliers, shipping and cargo companies, and customs and revenue departments of 2 governments. All this mess of over a single shipment? Something's gotta be wrong!

What does the tracking info on the item you never received show? Does it show it was delivered or not?

Listen - I know everyone has there opinion on this but it did happen. This was the first time I had ever had a problem with B&H but it will be the last. I don't know how this could happen and at this point I'm done with it. I'm out $500 I guess I have to deal with it.

I appreciate my UHH communities comments and love that we have this forum to post pics, thoughts and even vent frustrations.

Be well, beat Covid.
