BrentHarder Loc: Southern California

As many of my UHH friends know, I LOVE to photograph surfers and also the lifestyle that surrounds the beach and the surfers. I've been looking through thousands of my archive photos and have chosen some hand picked ones that I believe you will enjoy. Since I have so many and the UHH admin has a limit of 10 photos per submission I will submit several "chapters" of these photos. These are all from my "Huntington Beach, CA" archives. A few of these photos are of the annual Vans surfing contest. If you like these, keep coming back and there will be more to check out in the future. I hope you enjoy them!

Most all of the surfers that surf by the pier are skilled enough to not run over anyone. There are brand new surfers that can be very dangerous though.

I think it's more amazing for the surfers and their athletic abilities! Over the years I have seen the skills improve by leaps and bounds! All I do is push a button on the camera and sometimes get lucky!!! lol

An excellent set, as usual, Brent, but I am taken by the determined expression on the young lady in #1. It really conveys her concentration and hope.

Another wonderful set Brent. Number 8 has to be the best shot you have ever posted here. I burst out laughing every time I go back and look again, that expression is priceless. You should find her(?) and give her a print. I know you have tons of surfer photos but you must have a place on the wall for this one.

Yeah Mike.......that's the determination that you need to become a pro surfer. And that look plus more to become in the elite group that consistently wins. Kelly Slater is a perfect example with 11 world titles. No one is even close.

The surfer is a boy. I'm guessing you love humor and that is why you chose that one photo of the thousands that I have posted over the years. I could post a series with just "wipe outs" and you would be in seventh heaven! lol
Sorry, I don't have a place on my wall for that photo (or any others for that matter). The walls are full.
