I have a D5600 any reviews? Would like to think about a 200mm-500 zoom lens for wildlife photography. Do I need a better camera?

First of all, the lens is the key to great images, the body, not so much.
I have owned the Nikon 200-500 5.6 since in was introduced, I am a member of Nikon Professional Services and got the lens the month it came out. I have shot it off the D7200, D500, D5, D4s, and D850. I have never been disappointed in it's performance. And neither will you. Below is just a sample of what you can expect from this lens.

DPreview website had a detailed review of that camera in 2017. Good to read before considering to buy or not.

I want to thank everyone who posted answers for me to think about, I'm still learning, the hardest part is the settings to use for different types of photos. I'll get there one day.

I used to own a 5600 and it is a great camera capable of fantastic photos if you do your part. I love the swiveling screen. Mine did fine with a Sigma 150-600 lens which is similar to the size & weight of the 200-500 Nikon lens. You don't need a 'better' camera. The person behind the camera is more important than the camera/lens combination.

There are lots of folks who get really nice results with their D5600. For me, the major shortcoming is that it has only a single command dial. This is no problem if you are using one of the assisted exposure modes, like Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority. But if you are trying to use Manual exposure, it is not possible to have access to both shutter speed and lens aperture at the same time...you have to choose one or the other. Down the road, you may find that you need or want that extra control. A D7xxx will provide it when that time comes.

I have a F5100 and in manual mode you can select both shutter and aperture independently. You hold the +/- exposure compensation button down at the same time as rotating the command dial to adjust the aperture.

Turning the command dial by itself alters the shutter speed.

Would expect that to be the same on the D5600.

I have both and like them both. The lens however is mounted on my tripod (RRS support) so camera weight doesn't matter.
Happy with results. D5600 has a 24mp sensor and it is very good.

I have posted his before. Learning the d5600 I never get enough info from reading the manual, I found this on CreativeLive.com to which I belong to Under Framerman. There is a program called d5600 with John Greengo.
I paid about $12, that gives yo 24/7 access. I learned so many things on just what this camera can do.

I found the David Busch book excellent for learning everything about the D5100. He also does one for the D5600. Worth looking at.

The D500 has the same auto focusing mechanism/software as the D5. Which is awesome.
That's the reason to step up from the 5600. So much faster and more precise auto focusing.
