I have a D5600 any reviews? Would like to think about a 200mm-500 zoom lens for wildlife photography. Do I need a better camera?

The big Nikon 200-500 would fairly dwarf your diminutive D5600, but it will work on it. I've seen Mark Smith do awesome shots with that lens on his D500.

Yes you do. And then you can give the 5600 to me!!!!

I haven't shot the Nikon 5000 series, so I can't speak to it. But I am happy with my 3000 series cameras. I think you're 5600 will serve you well.

The lens is excellent - I use it on a D7200, which is a bit larger, but can't imagine there will be an issue when you are accustomed to it. Some things to think about Link https://cameradecision.com/compare/Nikon-D5600-vs-Nikon-D7200

Just use a tripod and enjoy, my D5300 is all the camera I'll ever need. Remember that 15 years ago this would be the bleeding edge of what a dslr could do and would have been a pro gear

The 5xxx series is the same as the 3xxx siblings, but with Bigger! Fancier! menus.
They take the same photos.
THAT said:
I had a D7100, and a D3200. Same photos.
BUT the menus on the D7100 allowed me to further customize my settings.
Which made it easier to take those photos.

The D3xxx and D5xxx series Nikons have a pentamirror viewfinder. If you go to a D7xxx series or higher Nikon, you get a superior pentaprism viewfinder. The glass prism inside gives a larger, slightly brighter view through the viewfinder. With a D7xxx series camera you also get a better autofocus module with 51-points (15 cross point). The D500 has Nikon's best autofocus module with 153 points (99 cross point).

Both are DX format Nikons, pentaprism viewfinder left, pentamirror viewfinder right

There are lots of folks who get really nice results with their D5600. For me, the major shortcoming is that it has only a single command dial. This is no problem if you are using one of the assisted exposure modes, like Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority. But if you are trying to use Manual exposure, it is not possible to have access to both shutter speed and lens aperture at the same time...you have to choose one or the other. Down the road, you may find that you need or want that extra control. A D7xxx will provide it when that time comes.

As for the lens, it is a great value. I have one. I don't use it a lot, but it is plenty sharp, it focuses quite well, and generally does a nice job. It is pretty heavy, and is not weather sealed. Some folks do not like the tripod collar and foot. They have found that it is difficult or impossible to reliably rotate the lens in the collar to change between landscape and portrait orientation. That has not been a problem for me given the way I use the lens.

As has been mentioned, the D5600 is a fine camera, and there would be no “problem” pairing it with the 200-500. The decision you face is whether the D5600 is the best camera for wildlife photography. You can deal with the menu-driven settings, but the real limitation I see is the max 5 fps and maybe the buffer size. Depends on what « wildlife «  you are shooting, but if it moves fast, you might consider a body with better capacity for continuous bursts.

I have a d5500 with a tamron 150-600mm lens. Once through the learning curve, I've been pleased with the results.

I use the D5000 with a Sigma 150-600. Great combination. I must admit I like the burst sequence on the D750 more.
