I'm with Barbara ... they sure don't make 'em like they use to. Great composition on #4. Feels like a much wider focal length. And I really like the Skyscape at Lake Onega. Skies like that sure don't come around often, at least in my experience. Finally, one comment on my jealousy ... I drove 3 hours to get to Mt. Rainier NP and got there just after the storm clouds moved in. Never saw the mountain and here you have it twice. Very, very nice set, Joe.

Thank you very much Barry for your kind and detailed comment. I am very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the various aspects of this set of images. That was quite a fortuitous shot on Lake Onega: I woke up quite early, looked out of our cabin window and realized that the morning was just barely dawning, threw on some clothes and went to the upper deck and witnessed the whole splendor. And I can feel with you on your Mount Rainier experience: Timing is often a question of luck and if you are there only once at a given time, you have to take what you get. Since I have been living in the greater vicinity of this mountain for over 20 years in several different periods, I have had the pleasure of visiting it repeatedly, but this particular one was a stellar experience, we were actually on our way from Ferndale to Seattle and decided to take the big detour to add in Mount Rainier and was served with a good vista including a double shot, as you mentioned, even though one of them is in the "DownUnder" position.

Thank you Streetrodder for your kind words, I am happy to bring you these pictures - and we just have to work on those visits, one at a time, but now most of them are barred, so let's hope we soon can start hopping again in a safe manner.

In this second set for the year 2018, we see two well-known structures from the Roman times in Southern France, then a set of images from our river cruise in Russia, followed by a few from Washington State.
