Thanks for the shots of your road trip. One of the great things about living in S. Arizona are the back roads. But you do need to cautious and conscience of the the possibility (very low probability) of running into illegal immigrants. A recent drive we took was south of Patagonia into the San Rafeal grasslands area. I am hoping to get down there sometime in the spring and, with some much needed rain, and hopefully some clouds, it could be really nice. My wife and a friend are avid bird hunters (I hunt with my camera) and we were looking for quail. With every boarder patrol officer we found along the road, and there were several, our friend would jump out of the car to ask the officer if he (she) had seen any quail. With our last stop (he was a supervisor) the officer tried to explain directions to us to an place he though might be promising. In that we demonstrated tp him that we could understand his directions, he said, follow me. Wow, did we find some back roads (and rough). Good thing we had a jeep and 4 wheel drive. He lead us to a beautiful oak-filled gentle canyon that could have been a great place for quail (which we didn't see) but now is on my bucket list to go back and spend some more time looking for photographic opportunities. By the way, we thanked the boarder patrol office profusely not only for the guided tour but what he does for us.

Again, fun stories of wandering the back roads of S. Arizona. Keep on wandering!

A Fantastic set of images!!! Kathy
Just a suggestion: use the compass on your cellphone to orient the map.
At one time I thought about adding coordinates to my images, that thought lasted about 30 seconds, next and final thought give the name of the area and maybe the road taken and let others have an adventure finding something to photograph.
However it is nice for you to know what you were seeing from your vantage point.

Thanks, Frank. I don't know if my cell has a compass. If it does, I don't know where to find it! I thought I had the GPS turned on in my 1DX, but no. There are so many twists and turns in the road, that even though we were going basically southwest, at times we were going in the opposite direction!

Out damned spots!!!
I noticed that when processing my "Snowed last night image" the. other day. Since the subject was just out my front door I dumped the images, Checked my sensor, then cleaned my lens, the uv filter looked like someone had sneezed on it many times, took a couple of cleanings before it was clear of ALL spots.

I keep forgetting those spots are there, as I no longer use that camera a lot. When it was my go-to camera, I was much more aware of them, knew where they were and habitually cleaned them up.

I do so admire the border patrol. I thank them every time I go through their checkpoint. They certainly know the area. I'd love to follow one some day! And yes, I'm always aware of the possibilities. That is why I haven't been to Madera Canyon for a good long while. My friends who lived at Sonoita advised against it (since I'm nearly always alone, and at the time I was driving an old truck.). Then another friend from south of the border stated that I was probably safer in the back country than in Tucson!

Thanks, John. Finding one's way is pretty simple: stay on the road. With all the twists and turns, it does finally end up where you want to go!

The ghost town of Ruby is a lot of fun. Getting there is also. We came in from Arivaca. Shortly after leaving Arivaca, the sort of paved road turned to dirt. It's not a bad road. Actually it's a really good road. But it goes every direction believable. By the time we arrived, I had no idea which direction was which (and I am really good at directions!). We couldn't get the map oriented either, so that didn't help. Now that I'm back home and trying to put names on peaks and ridges, it's really frustrating. So if any of you KNOW what the correct names are, I'd really appreciate it!
