Many fine photographs here and a couple truely outstanding ones. Here's my humble offering. In this case it's artificial light. Three flashes were used, one under the vase covered with colored tissue, one low power behind and low and one soft box overhead.

Very nice results..pg.38

Use of Light
Day 3 My final set for use of Light

Yes you guessed it another Light Painting, But with a twist These are all single exposure Paintings.
My Set up was A Sheet of Black poster board a shoe box to Hold it up,a Lensball, and a part of a Key ring to hold the ball in place a Mirror for reflection, and a Handmade Light Stick, I took a short strand of Battery operated LED Christmas Lights and wrapped it along the Handle of a Long wooden spoon, taped the Battery pack to the spoon part and used it as a Handle..All were done at 10 sec. at F/10 and ISO 100..I had alot of fun with this one and the only other thing I did do them was Cropped a couple that I thought needed it..

Good evening!
I have chosen "Use of Light" for my challenge. What I want you to think about is how light makes or breaks a photo. Lets face it... you can't have a photo if there is no light but even with minimal light you can take fantastic photos. Show us the many ways of photographing a scene or subject by making sure the light is right. Or if you took a photo and if the exposure was not what you wanted then show your edited version. There are few photos that are perfect straight from the cameras, but in post processing you can often get what you saw. If you think about it, you took the photo because of the light that caught your eye.
So lets see your photos and if you wish, tell us why you took it and what did you do in post processing to get the finished photo.

Lets see what you got and most important.... have fun with it.
Good evening! br I have chosen "Use of Ligh... (show quote)

I used snoots on my strobes yesterday. Visibility has been really poor recently so I knew I would only be shooting close macro. I got a shot of a Felimare californiensis lifting from the slate it was on. I only had a second or two to get the shot. My lights were too far forward and there was a lot of sand scattered in the frame.

I removed the backscatter and lightened the photos in Photoshop. It's not one of my best, but I managed to save an otherwise lost opportunity.
