Pg 30 - Awesome series, Pat. As you know, I am particularly drawn to sunrises, and when you throw in a pier, it's an automatic winner in my book. Excellent images. Tim
Thanks, Captive - a great deal of what I've learned has come from the challenges and studying the posts of others.
You are totally right. I learned so much of what I know by reading every photography magazine I could find. In many ways UHH fulfills that same function.

Many fine photographs here and a couple truely outstanding ones. Here's my humble offering. In this case it's artificial light. Three flashes were used, one under the vase covered with colored tissue, one low power behind and low and one soft box overhead.

Brilliant lighting that certainly fulfills the subject. I'm not totally convinced it appeals to me, however. Maybe my instinct is that the scene has too much light while the background has none. Aa, it's probably just me this morning.
Admitedly it's a bit garish. It would probably be improved if the light under the vase/water had been turned down. I did like your use of reflections in the B&W street scenes by the way.

WOW - like the image but appreciate even more how you did it and the effort it took to accomplish. Definitely ideas here worth exploring (thinking of myself).
