I know that. But, you wouldn't believe how many times I've been chastised for even suggesting the use of these.

Because I wear glasses, they can usually be found in the glove box of my personal and work vehicles. Not to mention duffle bags on hunting or fishing trips. They're awesome in a pinch. And cheap. Priceless in certain situations.

I use them on eyeglasses, watch crystals, phone screens, most everything with a small glass surface.

I seldom need them on a lens as I keep them shield with B+W filters ... and I use the wipes on those.

I've always used the "steamy breath/bottom-of-my-t-shirt" method...

... Zeiss wipes is at Walmart ...

Interesting note - I was looking around my local Walmart for wipes ... finding none I asked the 'Computer/Stereo/Camera/Flashlight Associate if they had any ... he told me "no, nothing in stock" ... as I turned away I noticed an end-cap (that I walked by at least twice) full of Zeiss wipes ... pointing this out to the associate I was informed that "they must have just come in but, they are not very good, I would never use them" ... I did not ask what part of his shirt-tail he used, just kept quiet and I bought a bunch ... !

I'm looking for recommendations of safe, effective pre-moistened wipes for dust and fingerprints on camera lenses and lcd screens. There are many products for sale on Amazon, including Nikon and Zeiss products, but some buyers complain that these products are too dry. Maybe they are not supposed to be very wet.

Zeiss wipes are first class - do not prematurely dry out like cheaper brands. I have spectacles with Zeiss glass and I use them for cleaning the lenses.

Zeiss makes a very good one. I got mine at Walmart in the glasses section in the front of the store but most on line camera centers also carry them. These are the only ones I have ever used.

OK for a filter, never for a lens surface!
