Dürnstein, Austria in 2010 – Part 3b, Dürnstein Abbey Interiors
Dürnstein is a small town on the Danube river in the Krems-Land district, in the Austrian state of Lower Austria. It is one of the most-visited tourist destinations in the Wachau region and also a well-known wine growing area. The town gained its name from the medieval Dürnstein castle, which overlooked it. I am walking challenged, so did not visit the castle. Dürnstein Abbey (Stift Dürnstein) was established in 1410 by Canons Regular from Třeboň and from 1710 rebuilt in a Baroque style according to plans by Joseph Munggenast, Jakob Prandtauer and Matthias Steinl.
There is a lot to see at Dürnstein. This set is devoted to Dürnstein Abbey interior views; Part 3a is of the exterior. Part 1 was of scenes along the Danube River, and Part 2 covered scenes in the town.

Yes, it is. My Flickr Album has a lot of photos, some of them somewhat repetitious--I just couldn't get enough of it.
How did you like the linking of the sets?
I have enjoyed seeing all of this series, David. Once again, your interior work is outstanding.
