Miltenberg, Germany in 2010 – St. Jakobskirche (St. James Church)
The St. James Church is the Catholic parish church in the Bavarian city of Miltenberg am Main. It is dedicated to the Apostle James the Elder. The church in its current classical form is a three-aisled gallery pseudo-basilica with a three-sided apse, slate hip roof and plastered masonry with sparing ashlar elements. At its core it is Gothic. A first church was built in the 13th century when Miltenberg was granted city rights. Towards the end of the 14th century a larger three-aisled building was built. In 1782 this building was declared dilapidated and plans were drawn up for a new building. The conversion to today's classical appearance took place in the 19th century: the choir flank towers with Welschen hoods and lanterns were built in 1829–31, the nave was converted in 1830 and 1886, the choir in 1862. [1] Purified in 1959. A general renovation with redesign of the liturgical space was carried out in 2003/2004.

The Organ
The organ goes back in part to an instrument that was built in 1699 by the organ builder Schleich. The organ case of this instrument is completely preserved. The organ was built in 2004 by the organ builder Vleugels (Hardheim), reusing 13 registers from the previous instrument, which was created in 1935 by the organ builder J. Bittner. The instrument has a total of 32 registers (2004 pipes).

Thanks, jaymatt. Nice to see you here. That 2010 cruise of 3 rivers has a lot of material for posting.
