Amazon Prime delivery...
Ordered a new Canon printer last Friday, it was scheduled for delivery on the 28th of this month. It was actually delivered on Monday the 21st. We get nearly daily deliveries at our farm in the country. Our houses sit about 1/3 of a mile off of the highway. Both UPS and FedEx drivers usually honk their horns as they come in the house yard and turn around. If they see us out in the yard or by the arena they will actually drive to where we are. We have very few problems or complaints with either company. Even the USPS driver will bring small packages to the house rather than in the mailbox out by the highway.
I’ve seen as many as three FedEx or UPS trucks in my neighborhood in the same morning making deliveries. The USPS delivery only comes once a day. Seems the “for profit” delivery services could be a lot more profitable with better route and delivery planning.

Prime here as well and I’m perfectly satisfied with their delivery performance. Ditto with UPS even tho they don’t always ring the door bell as in the past. USPS is fine as well and I intend to vote early.
We use Amazon Prime and it is outstanding.

No problem here in UK. I placed an order at 7.30pm last night. The delivery guy was hammering on the door at 8.30 this morning. I do appreciate the UK is geographically and logistically very much smaller than the USA.
We've been having the same problem with the USPS. Saying things are delivered when it was delivered to another nearby house. We live in an area with a lot of snowbirds so if they aren't down here at the time the package could sit for months

Amazon delivery has tanked, as far as I'm concerned. Amazon is now my last choice when I'm shopping. Nothing arrives in less that a week. I'll get an email saying the item has shipped "Two-Day Delivery," and it tells me that the package will arrive in a week or more. I called and asked about this a while ago, and she said that the 2-day deal means after it has shipped. It never was that way, and I still don't get packages within two days of shipping.
Other parts of the country still have fast delivery, but not here. If other companies can ship within two or three days, why can't Amazon?

Ditto!
For me 2 day delivery is a joke. Try 2 week delivery.
People who are still getting good service don't want to believe it.

I also have Prime and the delivery system here remains flawless.
As soon as the covid pandemic hit I have seen a slow down in usps ups and Amazon deliveries. Nothing comes on time or is delivered but never recieved until several days later.
A couple of years ago Amazon widely solicited entrepreneurs for Amazon-subsidized startups of independent delivery businesses. I suspect that's what you have in your area.
Fortunately in this rural area we are too remote and isolated for service from one of those Amazon contractors. We still get our Amazon deliveries the old-fashioned way: UPS. I've had no issues other than occasionally something that's supposed to go Parcel Select (UPS to USPS) being delivered to my home by UPS -- but that's a free upgrade.

Open Amazon. Put your cursor on "Hello, Bloke, Account" In the drop down click "Your Account". In the top left menu box click on "Your Addresses". In the box That has "Default Amazon" at the top you will see a link "Add delivery instructions." Click the link. A small window will open. Make sure all the information is correct. At the bottom of the window will be another link "Add more instructions." Click the link. There will be a drop down window "Do we need additional instructions to find this address?" You can type in any instructions you want that you think will help the driver get the right house. I wrote "Leave packages by the front door of my unit and ring the bell." My wife put a large cast bronze frog on the step near the door. We wrote "look for bronze frog."
All drivers see the instructions whether it is UPS, USPS or Amazon Prime truck. We haven't had a single problem since. Good luck.

I have had similar problems on occasion. Thanks for posting your "fix". I just went into Amazon and added a description of my house.

Local? I would love to. We live in the country. Our nearest "local" is a 45 minute drive to a town that has limited shopping. Our nearest "city" is Dallas, a 2-1/2 hour drive. Amazon wins, hands down.
I have Amazon Prime and have had no problem. A few years ago, I had a major problem with an Apple laptop that i had ordered. I got a notice from UPS that my computer had been delivered; unfortunately, it had not been delivered. I called the local UPS office, and they eventually determined that my computer had been left off at the local Apple Store with their shipment. This was a Friday; they told me that it would be delivered on the following Monday. I insisted that I needed the computer the next day, but it made no difference - Monday was it. I had to drive to the Apple store to retrieve my computer.
