Wow! Think of what they could tell!! When do you think they were built??

I never really looked into it, but this is helpful: "Although it seems cottages have been around forever, they are a relatively recent occurrence dating back to around the 1700’s. Prior to that, our ancestors lived in round hut style dwellings built of wattle and daub, these dwellings would be built together in a community and surrounded by a ‘moat’ type defense mechanism."

Dee's mother at age 2 and grandparents probably walked some of those same halls in 1923 when entering from Czechoslovakia.

Just and FYI - Our next challenge "Clouds" is being set up and hosted by a new challenge host - sakiston. It may be much later tonight or early tomorrow before it is up as I believe she is West Coast.

My neighbors are 5th generation Quaker Orchardists; they established their first small store in 1829. At the back edge of their property is this old, abandoned barn. Every time I'd drive by, I was tempted to take a picture and finally did.

Nice find Joel..pg. 12

It looks like I am not the only one that just can't help ourselves when we come across these structures. The stories they could tell would be good to hear, and I am really amazed at how long some have stood and served for so many years.

All great finds Larry well presented..pg. 13

These are in fairly good condition for being that old--at least they appear to be! Wonder if they were slave housing or camping buildings or maybe migrant workers housing...?
