I’m looking for a beginner camera. The young photographer wants to take wildlife photo. Any suggestion on which camera would be a Entry level to get her started.
Thank you

Whatever the device - P&S, entry level DSLR, or phone camera - be prepared to stand by her side and mentor her every step of the way. Children need a lot of guidance and encouragement to stay engaged. As she develops more experience she will be able to do more and more on her own. Include examples of how to shoot a scene to get different effects.

Budget is the first consideration. Fortunately, you can't buy a bad camera. Smaller would be better than bigger, unless the young photographer likes all the technical features. I always look for refurbs first. I've also bought quite a few used cameras.

I'd say the first consideration after price, was the size he/she would like. One lens or interchangeable. I'd lean toward a compact with one permanent lens.

Don't stand too close, a kid will get turned off if they think there is too much to remember...
They want to do it because it's neat.

I would suggest a Nikon Coolpix which has a nice zoom as a starter camera at a reasonable price of $256

Good idea. It looks like a real camera, it's easy to use, and it has a great zoom range. For the price, it's a perfect choice.

My iPhone takes pictures just like a real camera. Oh wait, it’s camera IS a real camera. Looks are so deceiving nowadays. 😉😉

Follow the KIS Principle. That is.....
Keep It Simple. Any camera that has more than an On Button and a Shutter Button is too much camera.

I would not recommend that one, I prefer one with not only Auto but Tv, Av, and M modes for future growth. Much wildlife requires long effective lenses, so a mega-zoom is in order. For the same price you might try a Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ80.
