I use the Black Rapid over-the-shoulder strap but instead of attaching it directly to the camera, I attach it to an arca Swiss clamp. I then attach the clamp to an arca Swiss plate which I keep on my camera. Makes it easy to remove the strap in favor of a tripod. Got this idea from the folks on this forum.

I understand questioning the tripod mount, I did for a long time. Finally I asked at the camera store, the gentleman responded, "I understand your concern, if it were an issue we would see many repairs for it. We have yet to see any."

That day I purchased my first Black Rapid strap and have never looked back.

Peak Design definitely. It comes in three widths; Slide, Slide Lite, Leash. You theory would one over another depending on how heavy your kit is. They are expensive but I think worth it

I like to have my camera secure and not flopping around. This is similar to what I have and I find it very useful.

If you use a RRS base plate, the new ones have a mounting socket for their D LOOP QD STRAP SWIVEl. This is a quick release attachment that fits into the mounting socket. If you are using the Black Rapid Strap sling, you can change out the tripod mount for this attachment. It was originally designed for a rifle sling but works equally well for a camera strap.

Okay Hedgehoggers, I need some help. I just bought a Pentax K1 Mk ii with battery grip. Beautiful camera but damn it’s heavy to be hanging around my neck all day on the chinsy strap that came with it. So, please suggest a better shoulder strap option. I’ve researched a bunch and it seems like a lot of them hang by the tripod mount-hole...this doesn’t seem like a great place to suspend all that weight. Thoughts? Thanks in advance, all.

I have one of these straps on one of my cameras - in terms of function and utility, I'd have to say it's probably the best strap I've ever used: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1099001-REG/artisan_artist_aaacame25rblk_acam_25er_esasy_slider_series.html

Optech. Reasonably priced and comfortable for me. My 2 cents worth.

Go to cottoncarrier.com, they have comfortable devises for carrying DSLRs for long periods of time. I have 3 different carriers and have used each, depending on the shooting circumstances. They are great..
