Oregon is a beautiful state with much to see. I don't agree with their politics though.

Last week my wife and I escaped COVID-19 jail. We figured a road trip would be safe.
Our destinations were Shaniko, Oregon. A almost but not quite ghost town. Population 39 at last count.
Then Smith Rock Park. In the 80's it was a international rock climbing destination. Since then several
groomed hiking trails have been added. Then it was off to The Painted Hills. One of the Seven Wonders Of Oregon. we were there. But the hills did not disappoint all the same.
Enjoy!
What a pretty place.....perfect for a movie shoot....love it.
Wonderful collection of images.
Your post is encouraging. And beautiful. I'm thinking of a trip to Eastern Washington. I'm thinking it's a good time to go while everyone else is staying at home! No people!
Great road trip, Plymouth, great series.
I'm waiting for the Or. coast to open up so i can make a roadtrip up the south coast.
[quote=jaymatt]Nice photos--four is my winner.
Good morning Jaymatt,
Thank you. Mother nature did the hard work. I just pushed a button. :)
I am fortunate to live in a area where I am able to enjoy places like these.
Take care, be safe and have a great day.
Thanks for sharing your road trip. Good job. Those are great photos. When we lived in Idaho we rode our motorcycles through that area of Oregon frequently, and Shanniko was always our ice cream stop, usually on our way to The Dalles. We also rode through the Painted Hills, but never stopped because it was always so hot. Thanks for the memories.
Edit: I forgot to mention that #’s 4 and 6 are my favorites.

The 4th down from the top is my favorite by far. Was it taken in SE Oregon near Vail, Nyssa, etc.?
It looks like a great trip.

I think the fact that I can go to the Oregon coast, the mountains (several to choose from) or the desert/highlands all within a couple of hours drive is one of the reasons I have stayed here. Politics and politicians run their course. I have lived in Oregon for 71 years and have seen many changes. Some good and some not so good. In my opinion that is. But I am guessing that could be said for most states.
