This has been The weirdest 4th of July at Huntington Beach ever. The pier was shut down along with ALL the beaches. The boardwalk where you could ride your bike was open and there were plenty of joggers and bikers but no one on the beach. It was really a shame too because the waves were BIG and no surfers at all. It was like a ghost town on the sand. What a difference a year makes. Normally on the 4th of July there would be thousands of people enjoying the beach and ocean. Photo #4 really tells a story about how many beach goers wanted to celebrate Independence day with the stars and stripes........even on their face with a patriotic mask.
These all look best in download mode.

Sign the recall petition, or prepare to enjoy the "New Normal" without end.

Yeah Bruce, I don't want to see "worse" either. Thanks for the kind comments about the series.

Nice captures Brent. It's De ja vu all over again. I am old enough, 77, to remember when week days at the beach looked a lot like that.

Your beaches look like my beaches or rather South Padre - sad.
But check those bikes a SCHWINN. When was the last time I saw a Schwinn like that?

Great photos

SCHWINN - yeah, back in the day. Who remembers clothes pins and playing cards or underinflated balloons on the fork just to sound cool!

Brent ... as I sit here looking at the closures ..it is sad .., this virus ..a little thing that has to be seen under the microscope has shut down Planet Earth .., and reminds us how fragile it all is ...\

I'm glad to see your folk are observing some sort of social distancing Brent. Just over a week ago over 500,000 people crowded on to the Beaches at Bournemouth on the south coast of England despite warnings from the police!
