There’s some pretty exotic looking bikes there too, amongst the tanned legs.

Yes! I should post some more of the bike photos that I shot.......there were many riders that had decorated their bikes with red white and blue decorations.

I wanted to share with all my UHH friends the difference between a normal summertime beach day in Huntington Beach and the way it is now. The photos at the beginning depicts what's it looking like now and this photo I'm attaching was taken in August of last year.

I like the comparison pics. With & without. Amazing contrast.

And on top of that Bunko.T, the comparison isn't really accurate! On a good day at Huntington Beach in the summer could be twice as many people!

Well, many of them were on the boardwalk riding bikes and walking. I've never seen it so jammed with people! I think the government wanted everyone to stay home though.

it's hard to make yourself stay home on a pretty day...i always enjoyed you fun and creativer photography.

Over Labor Day weekend 1995, I was visiting Manhatten Beach. On Saturday of that weekend, I had a book with me when I strolled the two blocks to the beach. It looked like your photo of Huntington Beach, not a soul in sight. My experience was weather-induced. It was rather cold and cloudy. I dressed appropriately, got out on the sand, scooped out a somewhat lawn lounge chair form in the sand, and sat there and read for a few hours. It was quite delightful to have the peace and quiet with only the sound of the waves in the background.

That sounds appealing.

This has been The weirdest 4th of July at Huntington Beach ever. The pier was shut down along with ALL the beaches. The boardwalk where you could ride your bike was open and there were plenty of joggers and bikers but no one on the beach. It was really a shame too because the waves were BIG and no surfers at all. It was like a ghost town on the sand. What a difference a year makes. Normally on the 4th of July there would be thousands of people enjoying the beach and ocean. Photo #4 really tells a story about how many beach goers wanted to celebrate Independence day with the stars and stripes........even on their face with a patriotic mask.
These all look best in download mode.

You captured the sadness of the holiday. I'm hoping next year things will be normal normal. Not the new normal. Thanks for posting your empty beach photos. I enjoyed seeing them.
