Wasn't aware of it. Thanks. You placed your cowboys in there well.

You're welcome Fotoartist and thanks for stopping by. That cowboy pack train has only been there for the past five years or so. When we first started going it was a little rough getting to the top. They (BLM?) have made many improvements with clean pit toilets and a large info/display area at the bottom of the road up to the Overlook.

From the Wedge Overlook, Utah. Not difficult to get to but you have to travel 22 miles of good, oiled dirt road to get there. Some "washboard" stretches but nothing rugged requiring 4x4 vehicles. From where these photos were taken, you are looking down 1000 feet to the San Rafael River.

Great views and rich color. Thanks for sharing.Nice to see those rare views.

Wish I lived in Utah. Would be great to go out creating images with you.

Thanks so much for posting these great photographs. I’ve been reading about this area since you posted and have now put it in my must see list for Utah !! Looks like an awesome place. I’ve been to Utah 6 times in my 63 years but did not even know about this place. I’ve mostly been in extreme southern Utah and also extreme northeast Utah. Thanks again

Well, many thanks to you for stopping by and leaving these nice comments! You have seen some of the most beautiful areas in our state in your travels. This one, like most of southern Utah, is best visited in the spring or fall when temps and crowds are down. While in this immediate area of the Overlook, you can also visit the Buckhorn Wash Native American pictograph panels (I'll post images in the next day or so), the Swinging Bridge and continue the scenic drive to I-70.

Many thanks, Ken...this is one of my favorite get away places and we try to get down (only a 3 hr. drive) a few times each spring and fall. Got somewhat stymied this year do to the virus!~!

Thank you, Linda, good to see you stopped by!! Conditions were very good even though we didn't arrive until 10:30 am. Some periods of clouds then breaking sun...mostly later when we moved down the road photographing the panels etc. We had a very enjoyable day and look forward to our fall trip back!! Stay safe and healthy!!
