Wow, did I get a big scare yesterday
I sat down at my computer to do some work and weird things started happening. My camera would come on, the mouse pointer would jump all over the place, programs with open up unexpectedly, and a few more things.
First thing I did was unplug my external hard drives and turn the internet off. No fix. Now I'm thinking virus so I tried to scan, that would work, so I reinstalled the virus software did a scan and found no problem.
So now I'm thinking something else is going on with the computer, not a virus. I took a deep breath step back and rethought. I remembered the day or two before I was looking around on my desk move things around and put my mouse pad and mouse on top of my wacom. I had already suspected it might be a driver problem on the mouse or something at least to do with the mouse so I made some changes with it and no fix. I then unplug the Wacom. Wala problem solved.
the whole problem was trying to use the mouse on top of the wacom, the two interacting and fighting each other and causing big problems. I've been operating that way for several months with no problem, I thought, but in thinking back it was happening erratically once in awhile, until it got real bad yesterday. So I guess now I will operate with the Wacom unplugged until I do some editing, then I'll plug it in.
Just another weird happening that I thought I'd share in case somebody else I have the same problem, orchid maybe offer a solution other than leaving the wacom tablet unplugged.

Don't you love technology when it works the way you expect it to?
Good to know.
I have had weird things when I’m unaware that my hand is on the track pad, or something resting on the keypad partially depressing a key.

Yes I do, and it's scary when it don't.

the weird thing about it is it was acting like somebody got through my firewall and was playing with me turning things on and off and everything. But when I shut the door by unplugging things and turning the internet off it was still going on. I'm just glad I figured it out before I did too drastic thing of starting all over which is dreaded.

So you did get an intruder on your computer but this case it's accidentally yourself.

My mouse is wireless, but I haven't tried it backwards. That would be hilarious.

Frank, thanks for the heads-up!
Now I will tell you UHH'rs what is scary.
I had to Google "Wacom" to see what was causing your problem, sigh.
You see, I only recently "Mastered" Picasa, grin.
Whew, boy that was close!

Or you could not put the mouse on top of the touch sensitive pad that acts like a mouse.
Someday, we'll have a reliable computer that works right. Wait a minute - I take that back.
Sometimes the mouse just needs a break...

The mouse pad is thick enough it should block the mouse, which it has for a LONG time. My op sys updated recently, which might have caused it to start acting up....... Go figure.... Anyway, I figured it out.
