Question: what brands of photo mounting spray work the best, and which don’t work well.
I have used 3M products successfully for small batches of photo prints (shows, home display, etc) since I am making flat computer prints. I roll down the print under protective paper with an old print roller, and then press them at least 24 hours under/in a stack of large books. Permanent - except in direct sunlight!
However I started out making fiber based prints about 1970. Never dried flat. So I bent the budget and bought a Dry Mounting Press. Used the press for over 30 years for all my personal B&W, until I slid into digital. I just reviewed all the mounted prints in 2019 to see if I wanted to keep them (95% yes) and found only three prints with a loose edge, and a half dozen stained but secure. I plan to refinish the three prints when I mount another 20 pictures found in an envelope from the good old days.

I also use 3M. I recently read where someone said to spray the back of the photo paper instead of the mounting board. I always sprayed the mounting board. You?
It doesn't make any difference, but if the board is larger than the print and you intend to trim it later, you have a sticky mess. It gets on your hands when you handle the board.

are you using the hard or the soft speedball rubber roller?
The soft one, do not want to mar the print surface.

You can also use the palm and side of your hand. I've been doing it forever with no negative effects.
You have to remember to wash your hands first.
