Question: what brands of photo mounting spray work the best, and which don’t work well.

I use 3M spray adhesive to mount prints to coreboard. You need a roller to make sure the edges adhere, which is the big issue. Like a Speedball rubber roller that won't mar the finished print.

Agree with all. One additional tip, when the spray has set, and before you position and roll, use an exacto to remove the rare clump of adhesive.

I use 3M Scotch Photo Mount for permanent adhesive. Products labeled "repositionable" don't work for permanent mounting.

I also use 3M. I recently read where someone said to spray the back of the photo paper instead of the mounting board. I always sprayed the mounting board. You?

Yep. That’s exactly what I’ve used. Scotch PHOTO MOUNT... not the ‘77’ adhesive.

I do not like any spray mounting systems, too messy and most of the time you get some residue on the front of the print.
I use the following with great success.

I have been using 3M photo mount for years. Have never had a print come loose from mount. I spray the back of photo, position on board, cover with a sheet of brown paper, "usually use a cut grocery bag" and roll over it with a hard rubber roller.

I use only archival mounting tape, I have no use for any sprays.

I use a Speedball runner roller on a piece of waxed paper I first place on the print as a means of added protection.
