Since I've heard the colors are starting to change in NE,
I thought I'd post the attached document (which I posted on another thread - but just in case you missed it, I'll post here too).
It's a "Colors of Autumn" document that is very interesting, especially the "How & Why" section on page 2.
Hope it comes through OK.
You lighthouse pictures really got us excited about our trip in two weeks. Will be in Portland and St. Catherine area before heading to NH and Vermont. Thanks for posting. Great pictures!
Maine is a beutiful state with very many places for photo ops.Very nice pictures .The one of the lighthouse brings back memories as I use to sail past it quite a few times in the 70's. Thanks.
I was there in June and enjoyed the coast so much I am heading back on 9/15 for another week of just drifting on the coast. Four of us will be going, 2 have never been to Maine so I thought this would be a great time to indoctrinate them to the beauty of the Maine coast. Any really special spots not to be missed for photo ops. We will be traveling to the Canadian border. Thanks A.
Anne. You can't go wrong anywhere if you follow the coast route from Portland out. It's slow going at times but hey,to fully enjoy scenery you got to go slow.Stop at Camden ,Southeast harbor and you can't leave Bar Harbor out.Take a trip on Park Loop Rd. and try to catch a sunrise from atop Cadillac Mt. breathtaking. Enjoy and I wish you good shooting.I'm hoping to make my way there in March .Still have friend there that I haven't seen in awhile
Really nice photos! All are good but I really love #1!

Thank you macy dave, wherever you are! Your chart is great - thank you so much for sharing it. We've got every shade of autumn here in Maine - coming on fast!
Anne, I am glad to see tusketwedge, provided you some guidance. Maine in the fall, is like a kid in a candy store for a photographer! If you are traveling Downeast, the trick will be NOT to stop at every beautiful stop or you'll never reach your destination. Personally I love the Georgetown and Five Islands area and where I live, Sebago Lake, but there are other Mainers on UHH far more knowledgeable than me about Downeast photo ops - might be worth soliciting their wisdom.

Thanks! Glad you came through with information for Anne, my knowledge, gets a little sketchy beyond Brunswick and Bath!
