Please C & C. Taken this morning, with a Panasonic G10 (on its last legs) and a 14-140 lens.
This morning was very bright and windy, not ideal, but still a beautiful way to start the day! How I wish I could have gotten there several hours earlier! Normally I would have used my tripod, but since my puppy wanted to join me, the tripod got left in the car. I tried to compensate for handheld, excited dog and wind with higher shutter speeds. I guess a real photographer leaves the dog at home...
:)
Portland Head Light: f/5.5, 1/1000 sec, ISO 200
Sea Rose and Bumblebee: f/5.7, 1/250 sec, ISO 200
Moon over Portland Head: f/4.5, 1/400 sec, ISO
I really like the first shot the most. The lighthouse is composed terrifically and the second lighthouse adds perspective to the shot. Well done.

All the shots draw the eye to the correct spot on the photo.
Great composition, placement

I like what I see. Will be in Portland on Sept 24th. Where were you shooting???? Any other tips as to wherte to go.
Thanks, Glenn! Portland Head Light is in Cape Elizabeth's Fort William Park just south of Portland. Aim for sunrise and/or sunset - a wanna-be photographers candy store! I don't do a lot of photography in Portland, since it is a bit of a trek from home, but there are several lighthouses in the Portland area and the working wharfs along commercial street are fun to photograph. My favorite coastal area is just north a bit - Georgetown and the Five Islands Pier - if you get there don't leave without one of their great lobster rolls! Nice B & B - Coveside - up there too!

Thank you for your encouragement, Erv! Your Sammy must be a wonderfully patient pup, maybe someday Hap will catch on that it is not how fast we travel, it is what we savor along the way! Bye the way, your love of photography and skill comes shining in the images you post.

Thank you Sarge, we lived in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire for 20 years - I thought the state motto was "Live, freeze and die" ...
