I always update and if you have a problem with Lightroom or Photoshop call Adobe Help Line and do a screen share, they will fix it in a minute. Also I'm completely updated, and use a Stroke in Photoshop to border my pictures, no problem, just make sure the layer you're on is not locked and your caps lock key is not on. Again if there is a problem call Adobe Help.

Go to "About this Mac" under the Apple Logo, upper left. It will bring up the basic info about your Mac. Click on "System Report..." and on the left hand side under software, click on "Legacy Software". You will get a list of all of the software you are running that is not 64bit and won't work under Catalina.

The newest operating system obsoleted non 64-bit applications from being used.

This is the real issue associated with an upgrade to the new OS on MACs - Fotoartist hit the nail on the head. The newest OS for MACs only supports 64-bit applications. Windows is not far behind in taking this step. As hardware advances (8 core, 16 core, faster chips, etc...) 32-bit becomes obsolete. Much the same way early DSLRs are becoming. If you maintain older OSs, which many people do, then you won't have any problems running older applications. If you are satisfied with 12-mp cameras - which many people are and they take wonderful images with them, then you can stick with older OSs. But support for those older OSs also disappears just like support for older DSLRs disappears.

Yes it does, but the original and subsequent posts indicate MWoods does not seem to have PS or Elements. He has no clue about NIK filters.

I did this on my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) running Mojave, and it tells me that, among a few other Adobe apps that are 32-bit, isAdobe Lens Profile Downloader. Does this mean that, if I go to Catalina, and buy a new lens, I can't get the lens profile for Adobe Camera Raw? That would seem to me to be reason to stay where I am.

Not sure John, but I believe(my searching indicates) newer versions of Picasa are both 32/64 bit. Here's a link: https://onesoftwares.net/picasa-for-mac-3-9-download/

I tried the link. I was redirected to another site, and I was warned it was insecure.
I started reading the comments, and it need a password that nobody has guessed yet.
Try "oldergeeks.com" and see if they have anything ...

If the app is on the legacy list, it is 32 bit and won't run in Catalina. This is the first time I haven't upgraded to a new Mac OS in quite some time. I want to make sure that I'm ready with my important apps before I make the move.

I tried this, and I don’t have a “Legacy List” option. I’m running High Sierra right now.
