Ask your wife. If she agrees you need a new camera, go for it.

Biggest question before you spend a lot of money... What will the new camera do for you that the old one won't?

Or what does your old camera not do that you feel that you need a new camera ?

Cogent reply to the person who thinks that acquisition of the next (slight) upgrade will make them a better photographer. WRONG! You can take great photos with an entry level 3300. The photographers eye and skill are what REALLY count, the camera is merely a tool.

But every body has to ask at least once!

1Feathercrest asked:

"As an amature with a Nikon3200 what benefit would a 7200 provide me?"

Will you even recognize the person you were before you upgraded?

If you can swing it financially, go for it. I believe it has the XQD card also. Faster reading cards but, also more $$. What ever you decide, Happy holidays.

Sounds like a gas attack. All valid questions here. What is the 750 not doing for you what the 850 will do for you?

If you have the money, and want to up grade, I’d say go ahead. Both are full-frame DSLR’s. The D850 has, roughly, twice the resolution of the D750. The D850 also has a wider ISO range and a faster processor. If that sounds like features you want, and the price doesn’t scare you, then go ahead.

BTW you can cushion the financial blow by selling your D750. Recently I bought a new mirrorless camera for $1800. I sold 2 of my older cameras to KEH for $1400. That made a big dent in the cost of the new camera.

Some will tell you that you can get more if you sell them yourself on eBay. But I have often been disappointed in the bids I have received on eBay. So I now check to see what the used camera sellers are willing to give me. And if I’m happy with their bid I go ahead and trade them in to the reseller.

DIt seems to me that most responders to these kinds of advice requests focus almost entirely on “need.” I have diff take on this topic.Aren’t there times when you say to self, “Self, to hell with need. That new widget really appeals to me, and as soon as the store opens tomorrow, I’m gonna hop on my moped and pedal it down there before someone beats me to that sucker.” My view is that if you can afford it, you aren’t depriving family of food, shelter, education, health care, etc, hang a left at the corner, park that moped, and run in and grab that widget. Of course, the wife may want a new M-B hi-end SUV, so be prepared.

Just an old-timers take on this oft stated topic.

This is the third time in this tread the link has been posted.

If the OP misses it, it's their own fault.
